Changeset When Comment

That will just filter out big bboxes, including the ones that actually do contain changes within my area of interest. That's not a solution.

113326292 about 4 years ago

Do share what better filtering there is. in Osmcha I have an area designed strictly around 5 NYC boroughs, yet I'm getting your changeset. So please do tell how to filter only for changes inside of the area of my interest.

Also it seems like you created nodes 9222490711 and 9222463906 for the same address "35 Westchester Square". Also USPS database search shows that address is only 35 Westchester Sq, not East Tremont Avenue or Lane Avenue.

Hello.
I see you tagged a few streets with smoothness of very_bad, horrible and very_horrible. Looking at satellite imagery all those roads are paved city streets, while qualifiers of those smoothness ratings specify unpaved roads and what's considered "off-road" situations. smoothness=*#Smoothness
Did you mean to tag them in such a way?

You should be able to augment your overpass query to filter only for specific area(s), be it a country, relation, continent or just bbox.

Hello.
Based on the marking of that field, it seems like it's not only american football, but also soccer and lacrosse. Perhaps update that tag, if you haven't already?

Hello.
Could you please elaborate on your edit?
All the translations I was able to see on both Wikipedia and Wikidata use "политен", not "политан".

Hello and welcome to OSM.
When you submit your edits, please write a more detailed explanation of what you did rather than just "1".
Please see this article for a more detailed explanation osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments 👍🙂

Is old_nycdoitt tag a thing? I thought for such cases we'd use "demolished:" prefix, no?

Compare imagery alignment around this exit that SH17 "realigned" node/448112308
Bing, both ERSI and Mapbox all match, while nys orthos is off.

Luckily in NYC from what I've seen, all imagery is pretty close and accurately aligned, and the differences between them are within your mouse movement's margin of error. Short of lane reconfiguration, I'm not sure if there's anything that need such extensive "realignment".

(I'm not talking about Maxar, that thing is completely off).

You added number of beds and phone number to a helipad... 🤦‍♂️

113054311 about 4 years ago

Please note that "Hours", "Number of Beds" and "Telephone number" are not valid OSM tags.
Please, either correct or delete this tags.

113054509 about 4 years ago

Hello.
Could you please provide some supporting information regarding this hospital?
I'm not able to find any information about it.
Additionally, "number of beds" and "opening hours.ours" are not standard OSM tags. And phone number you provided is not in a standard format, nor does it contain area code from NYC.

Hello.
There are a couple of things you should consider to improve your edit.
If you are mapping sidewalks as separate path from the road, don't forget to connect sidewalks to appropriate intersections with crosswalks. Otherwise you are creating 'routing islands' where navigation software wouldn't know how to get you out to the rest of the map; or it would give suboptimal navigation directions, such as if you are coming from Pennington St you'd be directed to go all the way to Camp St middle of the block and then loop back around.
Additionally, when mapping sidewalks as separate paths, please add `sidewalk:left/right/both=separate` tag to the associate road as documented in osm.wiki/Sidewalks#Sidewalk_as_separate_way This tells software that understands that tag there's sidewalk mapped and not just a nearby walking path.

Additionally, based on your username and url in the comment it appears that you represent an organization. As such please see osm.wiki/Organised_Editing

And finally, please don't advertise in changeset comments. It's spammy.

Hello.
Is this actually a separate road or just a sidewalk of Plaza Way road?👍

112038425 about 4 years ago

This is not always the case and it must always be evaluated in each individual area.
In a number of chasesets I've seen SH17 blindly make edits which made the map LESS accurate because nys orthos is outdated compared to other imagery, and SH17's edits to road geometry don't represent the real world layout.
Furthermore, if 4 different satellite images pixel-match in alignment with each other but not nys orthos, nys orthos is misaligned.
I've requested SH17 to doublecheck other imagery before "realigning" roads, but they are ignoring my requests. If this continues I'll either mass-revert their edits or forward it to DWG.

Hello.
Please do not make changes "globally". It is much better to split up your edits into smaller geographic areas, be it neighborhood, city or region. That makes it much easier to ensure that changes you make are valid and accurate.
