Changeset When Comment

I'm request you once again to evaluate all the available satellite imagery and map based on the one that's more accurate to the current state! In this changeset you "realigned" roads to an outdated satellite imagery! And seeing this I suspect you've done the same in many of your previous edits. This is not improving the map but vandalism.

If you can't select element that you want, there are a couple of ways of doing it. One is to temporary "disconnect" overlapping nodes, move one out of the way, select the other one, do whatever you need to do it and then move them back.
Alternatively, in iD/RapiD if you open Map Data panel (shortcut key F) and scroll down to Map Features section, and there you can (temporary) hide features that are interfering with your edits.

Hello.
These are truck cargo trailers or shipping containers, not buildings...

These are clearly tombs in a cemetery... You could've tagged them as such. :)

OSM notes can be marked as closed.

Another option is to just take photos of what you want to map. That should be even faster than typing, you don't have to rely on memory, it will probably capture even more details and photo will have gps location embedded. Then as you map each photo, delete it. 🙂

Hi.
Rather than creating temporary nodes which you'll later delete, it's cleaner to create OSM notes. That way it keeps changeset history only with changes that actually modify the map. If you want to use OsmAnd for notes, this article explains how to do it https://osmand.net/features/osm-editing-plugin#Mistake_on_the_map 👍

Yes, it's blatantly obvious that "you updated info". Please write more descriptive comments as explained in osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Hello.
You added a building that goes smack through the middle of a bike path.

Hello.
Please don't just blindly "realign" every single street to nys ortho map. It is not always the most accurate imagery. For example in this changeset I see in many places that majority of the other available satellite imagery matches with each other, but not nys ortho. Based on that I think it can be safe to extrapolate that nys ortho is the one that's misaligned. Also you have a bunch of edits which make straight roads look needlessly bendy.

333012979 is what i was referring to. I'm looking at bing imagery and don't really see it, although it's pretty covered by trees. However, both ESRI images were taken in colder weather without leafs and it's pretty clear that there's no path there. Mapbox also doesn't show anything. Maxar imagery is very pixelated and pretty badly misaligned in that area. And Bing Streetview imagery doesn't show this path either. Perhaps when you get the chance you could double-check if it's actually there?👍

Hello.
When drawing buildings, please try to make them square. 😀 You can press Q as a shortcut key to quickly made square angles on lines and polygons. 👍

Nobody is under any obligation to do anything. 😉 It's just if the associated streets don't have "separate", then somebody might come along as tag "yes", then consumers of OSM data might incorrectly interpret like there are twice as many sidewalks. Or if they render sidewalks on their own based on tags, such a map might also have twice as many..
Regarding which style of tag to use, ":both" is a more modern way to tagging. On the taginfo site if you take a look at Chronology tab, you'll see how quickly each tag gains popularity.

Are all these paths still accurate? I'm looking at various satellite imagery in iD and many paths are missing there..

For mobile mapping consider checking out StreetComplete. It is an awesome app for filling in missing details and otherwise enriching existing features, rather than creating a new ones. But it can also create OSM-native notes attached to the map, so you or somebody else could refer to them later on.

Another option to check out is Vespucci. It's more a general-purpose editor, although UI is a little bit dated(in my opinion).
For most of my mobile mapping I use StreetComplete, and if there's something needs to be deleted or created, such as buildings or paths or biz, I switch to Vespucci or leave a note with StreetComplete.

You, you should be able to resubmit it additional info. I'm not familiar with the exact steps in OSMAnd to do it, but it should be possible to do nonetheless. Alternatively, if you use regular computer, you can add/edit data from the builtin iD editors.(and it allows simple extraction of biz-specific tags from building) 👍

Hello.
What is this restaurant's name?
Also does this restaurant occupy the whole building or just part of it? If only part of the building, then the restaurant should be added as a separate point rather than tag on the building. 👍

Hello.
Welcome to OSM.
Please note that it's inappropriate to use "description" field for any type of promotional or advertising. It is documented in more detail on description=*

Hello.
When mapping sidewalks as separate paths, please don't forget to add "sidewalk:left/right/both=separate" tags to corresponding roads as documented in sidewalk=* 👍

Actually, looking at various satellite imagery and just googling for photos of the inside of that thing, it seems like there's a pretty crude outline of NYS inside. It seems like it's perimetered by bricks/cinderblocks. I don't know if that's preservation effort of the original map or something new, but perhaps it's worth mapping it?🤔

Hello.
Is it completely closed off for everybody or can pedestrians/cyclists still pass? To properly update the map so that software doesn't route people through this bridge, please also update "Allowed Access" section.👍
