Hi, i'm new

Hi, I'm a bit confused, I have a windows mobile based device with built in GPS, I'm a courier, and have been looking for an open source map to be able to map housenames to, the area i'm in isn't covered at all, i'm willing to edit in most of it as i drive it everyday, if someone can suggest an app for me to use that will work with windows mobile to trace routes.

I was thinking of writting an app myself to make down road names, start and end, house names/numbers etc.

any feedback appricated :)

Can you add house names to this? that is one of the most useful features as a courier, I currently have 185 house names mapped as poi's in my tomtom, is there anyway to import them into the database?

Also this may sound crazy, but is anyone writing a satnav that can use this map?

About the satnav question you should check Navit (http://www.navit-project.org/) or Roadnav (http://roadnav.sourceforge.net/).

As far as I know the street numbers can not be included yet (is a feature that will require a lot of work on our user side, and that probably will be developed in the future).

I am using a Java based application with my BlackBerry (8100 Pearl + external GPS via Bluetooth), It is called bbtracker (http://www.bbtracker.org/), and I am not sure if it will work a Windows mobile device. Take a look at it to see if you can install it, if it doesn't work probably you will be able to find some software that works the same way.

Cheers

OsmTracker is the perfect application to survey during your trips

Just wanted to say, I hope the option for street numbers is added, I realise not everyone will want to, but personally I won't mind, I've been thinking before i found this site of trying to add a way to house numbers, if a program could allow you to just tap the screen (assuming its a touch screen pda) at each house on each side of the road with the ability to set a starting number & the sequence, ie 1,2,3 or 2,4,6.

I'd be willing to give it a shot myself if someone could show me sample code for windows mobile :)
