I am doing mapping in osm science 2015 and I started doing mapping of my [village and surrounding areas] (https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/22.1680/87.9135). It is a great experience to see my village on map. Here we can see the [temporal changes] (http://osm-analytics.org/#/compare/polygon:kffwOcrcfCesOnrAscA%7DuMlwOs%7C%40/2015…now/buildings) from 2015 to present for buildings and roads.

Saikat, this is amazing! Wonder if the official maps at the block office are this detailed, any idea?

Yes, I am agree with you. It will help block officials also for any kind of decision making things. I think we can do some task for village mapping (main component: Roads, source of drinking water and house).

Wonder if those ponds are seasonal or remains as permanent water bodies all year.

Most of these ponds are permanent, mainly used for agricultural purpose and fish farming.
