Grave is de stad van het blindeninstituut en daarmee ook de stad van blindenvoorzieningen. Vanuit het instituut leren blinden onder andere hoe ze met een blindegeleidestok moeten omgaan. Door de hele stad heen wonen ook veel blinde mensen en het trottoir is op veel plaatsen voorzien van tactiel bestrating (ribbeltegels en rubbertegels).

Omdat het in de planning staat een tactielkaart te gaan maken (HaptoRender) wil ik hieraan een bijdrage leveren door de tactiel bestrating van Grave in kaart te brengen. Hopelijk kan het blindeninstituut hier dan ook van profiteren. Het zal wel even duren voor ik alle straten nagelopen ben.

Grave is the city of the Blind Institute and therefore also the city of facilities for the blind. The instituut learns blind people amongst others how to use a blindman's stick. Throughout the city there are also many blind residents and much of the sidewalk is provided with tactile-paving.

Because there are plans to make a tactile-map (using HaptoRender), I want to contribute to this by mapping the tactile-paving in Grave. Hopefully the Blind Institute can benefit from this as well. It will take some time before I have tracked all streets.
