The links are already marked as “nofollow”, which lets search engines know that this is a user created link and potentially might contain spam. In other words, this link does not contribute towards the ranking of the linked site. You can find the details in ¹.

Obviously, preventing such spam accounts would be nice, although I can’t think of a “perfect” solution to this issue.

Es gibt mehrere Gründe soetwas zu tun. z.B. wenn man nicht die nötigen Kentnisse/Satbilder hat um entscheiden zu können, was Acker und was noch zum Wohngebiet gehört. Damit kann man den technischen Fehler (Gebiete überlappen sich) zwar beheben, aber richtig wird es dadurch nicht unbedingt.

Desweiteren darf man die Wissensweitergabe durch solche Notizen nicht unterschätzen. Klar, viel passiert durch nachmachen, aber manchmal ist ein expliziter Hinweis sinnvoll. Wenn die ursprünglichen Bearbeiter/Fehlermacher durch die Notiz es das nächste Mal gleich anders machen, ist allen doch viel mehr geholfen, als wenn die erfahrenen Nutzer stoisch von Hand immer die gleichen Fehler wieder ausbügeln?

Ein weiterer Grund ist: man hatte gerade keine Zeit. Eine Notiz ist schnell angelegt, ein Edit aber dauert. Eine Art ToDo Liste führen erscheint mir bei den vielen Baustellen in OSM kaum sinnvoll.

Leider gibt es aber auch immer wieder Menschen, die mit Hilfe von Bots Notes erstellen – da sind solche Tools wie KeepRight oder OSM-Inspector aber die deutlich bessere Wahl. Evtl. war die Note ja von einem solchen Bot erstellt worden?

Nett, auch wenn ich persönlich finde, dass die Gebäude eine Zoom-Stufe zu spät kommen.

Allerdings funktioniert die Demo-Karte bei mir im Firefox (Iceweasel) nicht, die die Tiles einen 401 werfen. In Chromium/Opera funktioniert es jedoch einwandrei. Evtl. seht ihr in euren Logs mehr. IP zum greppen: 82.212.41.107

Auch ich bedanke mich erstmal für die Arbeit an den Straßenlisten. Ich habe eine Frage bezüglich der Auswertung und hoffe, hier wenigstens halbwegs richtig zu sein. Ist es möglich bei der Auswertung die Tags old_name¹, short_name bzw. alt_name² einzubeziehen? Die Beispiele sind von Heidelberg, aber denke dass es ähnlich gelagerte Fälle auch woanders gibt. Weniger „falsch fehlende“ Straßen zu haben erscheint mir sinnvoll. Weißt Du da vielleicht mehr, ob Sachen dagegen sprechen das so zu handhaben etc.? Im Zweifel freue ich mich über einen Link zum Quelltext, dann kann ich selbst schauen ob das sinnvoll patchbar ist.

I like your suggestions and hope to see them merged at some point. It’s nice to see people contributing to the osm.org facelift. While at it: have you tried how it looks if the tags and their values were put in a table? I don’t necessarily mean to add borders to it, but rather align the tags/values on the equal sign. The reason I ask is that browse-pages are very similar to the history-ones and those need a face lift, too, and it would be teriffic if the designs would “match up”. (Also I once saw an history approach where changes were presented in a table, which was easier to read than the current approach). Anyway, I guess making the history page easy to read is a completely different undertaking so please do sumbit your patch once you’re satisfied with it – as I wrote before, I like it :)

Ich denke der Hauptgrund warum Flächen und Straßen nicht verbunden werden ist, dass es deutlich mehr Aufwand ist später Änderungen einzupflegen. Das ist zumindest meine Erfahrung. Beispiel: an einer Straße/Wiese wird ein Schotter-Parkplatz aufgeschüttet. Wenn die Sachen nicht verbunden sind, kann ich einfach die Wiese anpassen und den Parkplatz einfügen. Sind sie es, muss man noch zusätzlich die Straße und die Wiese an den entsprechenden Knoten auftrennen. Das kann man in der Regel nicht für die gesamte Straße machen, sondern muss die Knoten von Hand auswählen.

Inhaltlich hast Du natürlich Recht – wobei ich es hier schwer finde „die“ Lösung zu finden. Wie Du richtig geschrieben hast muss man hier wohl von Fall zu Fall abwägen.

If you are using JOSM, then incomplete does mean “not downloaded completely”. Try opening the relation, there should be a button there to download the rest of it.

I haven’t mapped bus routes in a long time because the best available proposal at the time was cumbersome to map and had many draw backs. to answer my own request: I found HouseNumberTaggingTool which can be installed right from JOSM fits my task perfectly. No idea why I missed it the first time, though.

I haven't yet found any buildings that were distinctively enough to tell if it's a shop, supermarket or something else. So building=yes has been sufficient for me. The tag should probably go into the relation, but tagging the way is a possible case if it serves no other function (and it does not for the buildings I draw).

you might also want to delete the buildings located "below" the new building. It does not make much sense to have buildings stacked on top of each other. At least not on the same layer and it appears the older ones were traced from yahoo imagenery and might be out of date.

Hm… also wenn ich einen beliebigen Schlüssel bearbeite und dann im Textfeld STRG+V drücke, erscheint zumindest bei mir der kopierte Text an dieser Stelle. Ich verwende zwar kein Windows, aber dort sollte das eigentlich auch funktionieren. Das klappt auch für Unicodezeichen. Wo versuchst Du denn genau, die Zeichen einzufügen?

As Vclaw pointed out, you'll need the RemoteControl plugin to get the links working. Also, if you are stuck with Java 5, the next "tested" version of JOSM will be the last that builds upon Java 5. Future versions very likely require Java 6 or equivalent (i.e. OpenJDK, as lebsanbe suggested).

I haven't checked exactly, but maybe is the lake too complicated for Osmarender? If I remember correctly, "coastline" is used to split up very long ways but still be able to render large lakes or similar. From what I can tell, the lake you pointed out looks very complicated, maybe that's the reason?
