If you like, I can help in getting in touch with the authors as I made a similar call time ago, when it was about blocked applications and nobody had the time to talk to the people.

On the other hand we need to check if they are really still open and maybe there he is the best that can create an automated check?

I agree, that we all should start with checking/closing the remaining OSBs, so we might can script an import for the remaining ones that avoids loosing the whole bug history.

An open question might be, what to do with mass added OSBs. For example some people seem to use scripts to add keepright errors and some added requests for example for power network IDs. Maybe we can offer an flag like “automated detection” or offer an interface for external error reporters, so mappers can easily distinguish between user contributed notes and pay more attention to them (as somebody made work to report it to us and we should keep this ones motivated?)

Ärger dich nicht über die geringe Rücklaufquote vom Tourismus. Meiner Erfahrung nach ist das total symptomatisch für die ganze Branche und hat nichts mit deiner Arbeit im Speziellen zu tun. Es fühlt sich manchmal so an, als würde man vor 10 Jahren Leute darauf aufmerksam machen, dass es da so ein neues Internet-Lexikon gibt und es total sinnvoll wäre, wenn dort auch offizielle Infos rein kommen.

Na dann herzlichen Glückwunsch zu deinem ersten Beitrag :) Der Blog wird in verschiedenen RSS Streams zusammengesammelt und erscheint dann auch auf Twitter etc. Manchmal macht man ja doch interessante/lustige/… Sachen im Zusammenhang mit OSM und kann dann diese auch mit der Community teilen. Besonders viele lesen derzeit die Blogs allerdings nicht ;)

Hmm ja das klingt ja nicht so toll :( Prinzipiell kann man sowas sicherlich auch bei OSM erleben, meiner Erfahrung nach ist es aber die Ausnahme. Leute die stänkern wollen, gibt es überall, aber ich bin fest der Meinung, dass sie in der absoluten Minderheit sind.

Jup, aus meinern Erfahrungen spricht auch viel für Adress Mappen zu Fuß bzw. mit dem Rad. Ein interessanter Kompromiss wären wahrscheinlich Inline-Skater, da man da geschickter beschleunigen kann :)

Yeah this really remembered me on the videomapping thing :) But during my thesis working with a seprate VLC instance and JOSM parallel worked fine.

Ohhh das ist aber echt ne feine Sache :) Als ich mich noch mit Videomapping beschäftigt habe, hab ich mir sowas gewünscht, damit man nicht immer endlos Material sichten muss.

Well, I guess there are imports and there are imports ;)

What you did was what I would call semi-automatically (converting data but migrating and checking it manually). Thats what we did on various other imports and what seems to work very well, as there is only a very small chance of getting just to dull stuff into OSM.

But in the long run, we just need mappers on the ground, to enrich this areas with further details. So IMHO an import should go hand in hand with press related activities in this area, to attract new mappers :)

Ich werde auch mal dieses Jahr anfangen hier in Rostock die Gebäude auf Vordermann zu bringen :)
