Rostock 1st german city with housenumbers completed

Posted by !i! on 12 April 2011 in English. Last updated on 13 April 2011.

Well, the team of our city was quite busy the past months. Starting from a ratio of somewhat of ~60%, we collected the remaining ones of total 23080 housenumbers since January. At our meetup (with a special 'damn housenumbers completed!' BBQ) we decided that 97% is enough to say that we are finished. The remaining ones are mostly abandoned areas, supermarkets, ... so stuff thats not that easy to fill in in the near future.

Thanks again folks, this community really rocks :-)

Great work !

Note : I found this place which has quite strange path layout, maybe some misplaced nodes ?? : http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=54.104399&lon=12.159924&zoom=18&layers=M

After we imported the housenumbers for Kaufbeuren a while ago I doubt the "first" :D But anyways great work! Augsburg is currently at 15634/40684 or 38.4%

Great effort. Hopefully we'll start seeing more and more address coverage. However, whoever it was who traced the buildings really needs to learn the orthogonalise tool in JOSM and Potlatch judging by the horribly wonky looking buildings (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=54.089331&lon=12.110545&zoom=18&layers=M). Just press Q while an area is selected and it will square off the corners nicely. It even works if you have multiple buildings selected.

Well we got an buildings (including height) import, but they had to randomize the positions a bit (<1m) so this is the reason for the bad shapes. We tried it with orthoganilsation but cause of to much detailed shapes it didn't worked well
