Hi chiararik,
why does that lead to errors?

Hi Haftpflicht,

thank you for your edit and your contribution! I checked your changeset and noticed that you added addr: tags to a building way. In Italy, addresses refer to the entrance of a house or property, so the established practice and consense is to map house numbers only as separate nodes at the entrance.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask at any time.

Best regards,
wildmaps

Ahah, grazie l'ho corretto ;)

Thanks for your reply, and sorry, I didn’t mean to sound rude or accuse you of anything.
I’ve restored the tags to uic_ref and uic_name to keep the data consistent until there’s a clear agreement.

Ok, no problem. Sorry for writing your username wrong!

Hi @user_5359,
may I ask why you changed ref:UIC back to uic_ref?
There is an ongoing discussion on the community forum https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/railway-station-id-confusion-uic-ref/132393
and also my proposal on the wiki osm.wiki/Mechanical_Edits/Wildmaps/fix_ref:UIC_and_name:UIC.
If possible, I’d appreciate it if you could comment on the forum thread so we can find a common direction on this topic.

The user "hlfan" disagreed with my proposal, so I decided to test the approach manually for now, starting with the station in my hometown. Or is it to early to start doing this? I hope we can reach a consens.

I hope my edits are fine, but I’d really prefer to reach a consensus instead of starting an edit war.

Hi @user_2539,
I noticed that you merged the PEC email with the regular email address. I disagree with this edit because in Italy a PEC address is a special certified mailbox, and it is not possible to send a normal email to a PEC address. For this reason, there is a dedicated tag: contact:pec=*.

Ups, Danke Martin ;)

Hi @tyr_asd,
thanks for adding it! :)

There is still no consensus and an ongoing discussion about how to map addresses of amenities, etc., especially in Italy. The general consensus there is to only use addr:* tags for nodes when there is a "real" address.

"In Italia, il numero civico è il numero che contraddistingue l'accesso esterno che dall’area di circolazione (strada, piazza, via, ecc.) immette direttamente o indirettamente alle unità immobiliari (abitazioni, esercizi commerciali, uffici, garage, ecc.) o alle aree recintate non edificate (es. stabilimenti balneari)."
(from osm.wiki/IT:Addresses
)

In France, the Bremen/Charlieu schema is widely used. I also use it and hope a proper solution will be found in the future.
The main issue with the contact:* schema is that the tag already has a different definition in the wiki:
"For use when the contact address is not the same as the address of the physical location."

Michael

Ciao, posso chiederti come mai hai cambiato questo da track a path? Lo conosco bene e ci sono stato oggi ed effettivamente è un track. highway=track

Hi Anonix35,
do you remember how you mapped this way? way/516965581

I couldn’t find any markings on the ground, or am I missing something? Do you perhaps have some photos or details regarding this path?

Hi davide84,
in my opinion, if you look only at Sardinia, then yes, the Cagliari–Olbia can be seen as the island’s main line. But if you compare it to the whole Italian network (or even worldwide), I wouldn’t really classify it as a true main line.

In Italy we usually try to follow RFI’s classification as a reference (with some exceptions), but it’s still difficult to decide objectively which lines should be main and which should be branch, while keeping criteria consistent on a global scale. I also haven’t yet checked how other countries have applied this classification in OSM.

Maybe it would be a good idea to refine the wiki definition, since like already specified the classification depends not only on infrastructure but also on traffic. Sardinia is a special case because it’s an island, but I don’t think it should be tagged as main just for semantic or rendering reasons.

Hi,
There was a discussion in the Italian OSM Telegram group about this argument. Theoretically, in Italy we use addr:* only for physical address nodes. I don’t want to go into the complex details here and there is still a long way to find a consens. I used this example as a test.Hi,

Is it OK if I leave the postal: tag here?

Thanks for your explanation. I didn't knew about that! So maybe there is also the possibiility to make a proposal to deprecate uic_name and uic_ref and modify that to name:UIC and ref:UIC?

171636212 4 months ago

I just checked and I used RFI_name, similar to uic_name, instead of name:RFI, since name:<xx> should only be used for multilingual names.

171636212 4 months ago

Hi, I accidentally used name:RFI instead of RFI_name. Would this be the correct way?

Hallo, ja ich habe alles richtiggestellt. Wenn Sie die Änderung nicht sehen genügt es den cache zu leeren oder auf Windows Strg + R zu drücken.
