27 days ago | May I ask where these service roads came from? Are these from Lyft dash cams, or somewhere else? The reason why I ask is that is a construction site for a new garage and that area is NOT open to the public. Those roads may also change at any given moment, as I believe they're only dirt roads.
about 2 months ago | Is FDot hiring for the position you have? I'd be interested.
3 months ago | They’ll always show, but the segments through the gates should prevent people from being routed through there. Heads up, though….there’s a lot of road construction going on in the port.
3 months ago | You’re right, you can’t walk up. They don’t allow pedestrian traffic through the gates, only vehicles. Pedestrian traffic is allowed on the roads inside the gate, however it’s not advisable due to lack of sidewalks in a lot of the areas.
3 months ago | These aren't private roads, they're public roads. They're government owned and anyone can drive on them, even if you don't have business in the port. I understand that you go through a gate with security, but they're not there really checking to see if you have business on the port or not. I can have a McDonald's bag and say "I'm dropping off lunch to my wife/gf/whomever" and they'll let me on without verifying anything.
3 months ago | Port Everglades just opened up a new bypass, which has moved the gates back off of Marina Mile (SE 24th St) and Eisenhower. I drew the bridge, but some assistance can be brought in using camera view imagery. SATIMG is very outdated (doesn't even show the construction that's been going on for a year). I've driven it and have dash cam video of the bridge, but don't have knowledge of how far back the gates have been moved. They've made it to where the anyone can use the bypass to get to/from 2 berths at the port which the cruise lines use, easier, instead of going through the port and stopping at the gate. This will be a long process to get it mapped correctly and will take various sources outside of SATIMG. I usually do Lyft/Uber on the weekends for the cruise people, so I can get in there pretty easily, but I'm only one person with one camera. You have access to many people with many cameras. =)
3 months ago | It is best to NOT edit FLL based off of SATIMG, as there is massive construction going on especially in the area where this roundabout used to be. Terminal 5 is going there, roads are being redone in the area. If you are looking at dash cam videos that are less than a week old, then that's fine to edit from. I do Uber/Lyft in the area and can update it pretty quickly. I do have a dash cam that I can go back and look at as well. I'm in the airport area quite a bit during the weekends. I've already started tinkering with the airport areas where I see things that are wrong or have been moved. The lines on the exit ramp for the airport have been redone and it looks like they may close off one of the lanes.
3 months ago | I have a ton of info which is very current as of Sunday. That roundabout is gone. The airport is at a fifth terminal and I believe in the new road to get to the cell phone lot opens this week.
3 months ago | Can I see the video image of this changeset? I don't believe there's a roundabout there anymore.
4 months ago | Can you or someone from your organization reach out to me on Slack. I have some questions and possible insight to some of the things I see on Lyft.
4 months ago | Can you explain your reasoning behind turning US-1 into a motorway_link at the Ft Lauderdale International Airport? I'm curious as to why that whole area all of a sudden became a motorway_link.
5 months ago | It was probably a typo done while I overlooked something. The Pewu says I did it correctly the day before and then added the wrong one the day after, so idk. For future reference, if you see a single error like this of mine, no need to bring it up in a changeset, you can simply fix it.
7 months ago | I have a question about the editing of the railroad. Why is it on OSM and not OHM? Also, why is it connected to the highway?

8 months ago | That source isn’t listed. I see where it’s listed as imagery used, but the sign isn’t listed as a source. We come across the segment and there’s info on a restriction for trucks, but no sources cited where that info came from. It’s acceptable to put “sign” in as a source for relevant info such as weight limits on bridges or height restrictions.
8 months ago | The small section of New Berlin Rd between Sweetwater and Daryl Hill, where does the information about the HGV come from? Why is there no HGV info on the segments leading up to this particular segment. From an outside person looking in, it looks like a HGV load can only go across the street.
8 months ago | I knew you were referring to state maintained roads. I wasn’t referring to the residential streets of the city, however, the the source you are citing is referring to surface streets within city limits
8 months ago | I did not see anything about numbered highways in the source that has been cited. When I get home tonight, I will do some digging and find a better source than the one that is being provided. The one being provided for Texas is simply for local governments, not actual designated truck, routes
8 months ago | The link that is being referenced is for how local governments can set up a truck route through their borders. It is not a specific source that says “this highway is designated as a truck route”. I’m not doubting the project, I’m nearly doubting the source.
