About braided rivers in New Zealand, i.e. Waimakariri. I wonder how these features could be mapped reasonably, since such features change faster that other features. Shall we map that main channel, river banks, or river reach?

The way I do it is to either map the waterway along the channel that looks the widest or just map down the center, maybe with an intermittent tag, as the center of the water way is the middle point of all of them. Sometimes I also draw the area to both banks and tag it as intermittent also to show that water is there sometimes depending (scree could also be tagged be mapped in the area, without or without the intermittent water area).
