More and more people want to tag complicated access restriction, but the current scheme often isn't sufficient enough for that. That is why I put my thoughts for a refactored access scheme in a proposal:

Of course you will never be able to handle all the access restrictions in the world. The goal should be to bring some structure and naming conventions to the current access tags and values and handle special cases a bit better than right now.

do i need a new login to report bugs at trac.openstreetmap.org? where is the registration page? certainly it's not working with my osm account. neither username + pw nor e-mail address + pw are accepted.

nach einem kurzen abstecher ins micromapping (http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/flaimo/diary/12973) habe ich nun mal versucht festzustellen wie lang man für das abmalen einer gemeinde über die sat-bilder von geoimage/bing benötigt, wenn man folgende kriterien anwendet:

* zurechtzupfen der plan.at-straßen und wege an die geoimage bilder. danach bing layer in josm laden und offset einstellen, sodass die straßen deckungsgleich mit geoimage sind.
* eintragen von landuses in mittlerer mappingqualität
* eintragen aller gebäude in mittlerer qualität (sogut es halt bei der auflösung der bilder geht)

resume: es hat ca 10 tage gedauert. ergebnis: http://osm.org/go/0JLsnWd4- folgende schlüsse kann man daraus ziehen:

* der übergang zwischen landuse farmyard und farm ist ein fließender
* der übergang zwischen highway service und track ist ein fließender
* es gibt einige flächen die sind ein mittelding aus landuse farm und meadow. einstweilen hab ich sowas als "farm" gemappt, da diese in der regel von bauern betreut werden.
* es ist nicht leicht festzustellen ob ein bauerhof noch landwirtschaftlich genutzt wird, oder nur mehr ein reines wohnhaus ist. diverses zeug auf den umgebenden wiesen gibt meist aufschluss darüber.
* es existieren zwar eingetragende forests die aus irgendeinem import stammen dürften, sind aber sehr grob. waldflächen, speziell entlang von bächen, fehlen komplett.
* die plan.at daten sind sehr ungenau. nicht nur was die lage betrifft, sondern auch die klassifikation der wege abseits der hauptrouten.

with the high resolution bing satellite images, it's now possible to map areas with lots of details. i used the tag "area:highway=" + "area=yes" + "surface=" to map the physical area of streets and footpaths on a couple of streets in my neighborhood. this shouldn't interfere with the existing ways for highways and paths. if geoimage.at delivers higher resolution pictures some day in the future, i will have to correct the areas slightly, since geoimage is more accurate.

now i just have to wait until renderers display zoom level 19 and above. currently they can't really handle the amount of information in a meaningful way (for example 20 areas for parking should only be displayed as one "P"). maybe a more generic version of this proposal for all kinds of elements would help: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Relations/Proposed/Collected_Ways

i thought about writing my first iphone app; a little tagging app for a start. but after looking at the rudimentary API for fetching data, i think i'll wait until version 1.0. it's unreasonable for a mobile user to download 200k of data for a small bbox just to get a handful of nodes and ways (buildings) tagged with amenity=bar.
XAPI is no alternative. it doesn't offer enough features either. on the other hand it's not reachable most of the time anyway.

nachdem die gemeinde leonding, oberösterreich eine informationsbroschüre mit lauter POIs vor ein paar tagen ausgeschickt hat, habe ich mich mal ans reinkklopfen der metadaten gemacht. ärzte, kindergärten, schulen, religiöse einrichtungen und büchereien sollten jetzt alle erfasst sein.

war eine ziemliche arbeit, aber jetzt habe ich alle linien der linz ag linien nach dem oxomoa/öpnv-schema (http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Oxomoa/%C3%96PNV-Schema) umgebaut und dabei noch zahlreiche fehlende haltestellen gemappt. dank der unterstützung der linz ag konnten diese aber leicht eingetragen werden. unklar ist allerdings noch wie manche verkürzt zw. abgeändert geführte linien genau heißen und einzutragen sind.

jetzt müssten die busse von welser traun und ÖBB noch umgebaut bzw überhaupt mal gemappt werden.

nachdem ich genug ways und nodes angelegt habe, wollte ich das letzte mysterium "relationen" für mich in angriff nehmen. dazu habe ich für die buslinie 15 der linz ag nach dem oxomoa-schema umgearbeitet. danke an user a_uller für die erklärung wie man in josm relationen in relationen (relativ umständlich) anlegt.
