Enjoy your visit :)

The postboxes used to just have a simple integer number above the location name, but maybe that's been phased out.

IM00000023IM may be the original 23?

Fair enough. I've only ever been through on foot without paying attention to the gate rules.

If permissive doesn't quite fit here, access=private is probably better than access=no

Remember that OpenStreetMap shouldn't be used just for bookmarking places (even if they do good vegetarian food :), but if it is a real place, it'd be great if you could add some more details so the edit can be verified by locals.

Happy editing!

Thanks for the addition. Please could you just confirm the name Douglasia? I can't find any other information about the place online...

What an odd numbering scheme!

Not sure where that 80mph limit came from. I'll update the rest of the road, as the conditional one way system and bicycle ban need updating as well.

It looks like during TT period there are some temporary limits to take into account:

Thanks for fixing these up

Thanks for fixing this. I don't think the Royal Mail postcode finder is an allowed source for data though, due to copyright issues.

Oops! Sometimes the iD editor copies over tags from the previously selected item, but I must've missed it on this occasion.

Thanks for the update. Please could you check the website address, as it doesn't appear to relate to this business?

Thanks for the suggestion Andy. I think it's at an equilibrium at the moment, with the part of the path that's almost certainly a shared cycle path now being marked as such again, and other parts closer to the London City Island and Goodluck Hope estates tagged as pedestrian footways based on the knowledge of the local resident.

Without clearer signage or confirmation from the landowner/council (both sought, but nothing back yet), that's probably the best we can do for now. If anything more happens, I'll start up a thread on the forum.

I think my addition of Coast Road as the street name on osm.org/way/1126023532 was just based on whatever was nearby at the time... I can't find another reference for it in planning applications or land transactions datasets datasets.

Hi mentor,

Is the split between Lhen Road and Coast Road at an exact point, or just a rough estimate of where it changes?

The Land Registry transactions for Ballacregga list its street name as Lhen Road, so I wonder if perhaps the split might actually be at the Thurot Cottage Road junction (also coincidentally where the IM7 3 and IM7 4 postcode sectors meet).

I think it may have been showing in the iD editor as just a Cycle Path rather than Cycle & Foot Path, even though it had the necessary cycle/foot segregation tagging already. It's just the iD editor being particular about things though - as rskedgell says, the original tagging had the same effect.

I've just seen a similar case while editing the segregated cycle path on the north side of the A13. There's no harm in 'upgrading' these tags like this so they look right when editing in iD.

I'm not being aggressive, but I'm ducking out of this now. Bye.

I've had another wander around this evening (I needed the exercise anyway :) and I think the only section that is explicitly "pedestrians only" is the main path through Botanic Square.

https://ibb.co/mzCHwBf

Other paths either state "no vehicular access" or don't state anything at all (apart from e-scooters being banned at both the northern and southern end of the estate).

https://ibb.co/sP5wfr2

I'm not proposing to tag any of these as shared cycle paths, but I also don't think they need the bicycle=dismount tag added explicitly.

In case those photos aren't enough, I'm going to invite you to have a look at the map at the entrance to Bow Creek Ecology Park which shows the Lea Valley Walk (Meridian) with a purple line with both pedestrian and bike icons.

It follows down along this path (which I realised is named as Silvosia *Wharf* not *Way* on those lamp posts, but the name isn't important here).

Annoyingly I can't find a copy of the map online, but you're free to go and have a wander over to our lovely local park to see for yourself. Photos for reference:

This is a closeup of that faded sign at the northern end of the Silvocea Way path / Iron Bridge Wharf / Lea Valley Walk / Leaway / whatever you want to call it:
