I had a great time at SotM LATAM in Mexico City this past week. I got to hear so many talks on diverse subjects, I met friendly and interesting people, and there was a general acceptance that a random person from Canada would be there. Kudos to the organizing team and volunteers who put on a smooth, well run event.

I have never been to a State of the Map before despite thinking about going since way back in 2016 when I happened to already have a visa for Brazil. That certainly would’ve been harder with my level of Spanish understanding then. I will definitely be back.
