Changeset When Comment

Hello, in the future, can you please contain your changeset edits to a smaller geographical area? This changeset covers a vast portion of the continent. Also, can you provide correct changeset comments? A link for you is provided below. Thanks :) osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Howdy :) Thank you for your additions to the map. Out of curiosity, why would you remove the information, for example, from the McDonald's node and place the information on the building outline? Is there a guideline in the OSM wiki that says the building outline is preferable to a node which has already been correctly mapped? Thanks :)

Howdy :) Thank you for your edits in the Denver area. If you're ever interested in what's happening with the Colorado mapping community, you can go to Slack #local-colorado Cheers :)

Howdy :) Thanks for your additions to the map. Just a small thing...the name Red Rocks Community College Lakewood Campus wouldn't be quite right. The name would still be Red Rocks Community College, it would just be a branch or campus of the main college. Kind of like naming a Starbucks in Larimer Square. The name wouldn't change to Starbucks Larimer Square. It'd still just be Starbucks. The branch would be in Larimer Square. The additional tag would be ref=*. Or, ref=Larimer Square. I've already made the changes to RRCC. Keep up the good work. Cheers :)

Oh, I forgot to ask...the "name" you gave to the trail from East 47th Avenue to the Platte River Trail. Is this a name or a description? If it's a description, it wouldn't really be something to be placed in the name field. Or do you have a source for the name? Thanks :)

Howdy :) Thanks for your edits in the Denver area. However, you deleted some paths in Globeville Landing Park that actually exist. You might want to make sure you're using the latest imagery when you do this. Also, there are quite a few Mapillary images available if you want to check them. I'll replace the paths. Good morning, neal33. As for the JOSM plugin you are asking about, I have no idea how to use it. I don't have experience with it, so I can't say. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. Good luck with your mapping :)

Hello, thank you for your response. You mention that you received no response in the previous changeset comment chain. I’m looking at that discussion. You did not ask any questions or ask for information and it looks like the conversation was at an end. If you would ever like responses or information, I will always be happy to respond promptly. Please feel free to ask.

As for the rest, the OSM Good Practice wiki link was provided to you and you were asked to not delete the work of other users and to comply with the OSM Good Practice wiki. After the wiki was pointed out to you, you continued to delete the work of other users in contravention of the wiki.

You say, “some of the items were too far off to adjust in a timely manner.”

I’ve reviewed this changeset and the objects you added are extremely similar to the objects you have deleted. The original edits could easily have been modified and the history could have been saved. You can see a comparison of the two versions in the link below.

https://nrenner.github.io/achavi/?changeset=84720229

Of course, there are situations where the work of other users can be deleted. If a building is torn down, it can be deleted. If a road no longer exists, it can be deleted, etc. However, in this case, there was no need to delete the objects. So, I will again ask you to please stop deleting the work of other users and please comply with the OSM Good Practice wiki. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Thank you and good luck with your mapping.

Hello. The relation you created in Colorado appears as an error in OSM Inspector. What is the purpose of this large relation? It seems to have no tags. You can see the error message here: https://tools.geofabrik.de/osmi/?view=tagging&lon=-104.84930&lat=39.88559&zoom=13&overlays=nodes_with_empty_k,ways_with_empty_k,nodes_with_empty_v,ways_with_empty_v,node_tags_with_whitespace,way_tags_with_whitespace,node_with_unusual_char,way_with_unusual_char,node_with_short_or_long_key,way_with_short_or_long_key,nonop_confusion_on_nodes,nonop_confusion_on_ways,no_feature_tag_nodes,no_feature_tag_ways,ways_without_tags

Howdy. Thank you for your additions to the map. Are you creating these buildings yourself or are you importing building footprints? Thanks :)

I just looked at your changeset history and noticed that I already sent you a link to the OSM Good Practice wiki 10 days ago. Can you explain why you continue to disregard the wiki after it was already pointed out to you?

Hi :) Well, I don't know that I want to "take over", but I'll be happy to take a look at the area and update things as I go along. I was pretty much leaving it to you since you seemed to have a pretty good handle on it all. Cheers :)

Howdy :) I noticed here you changed the name of a road to "CLOSED". I looked through the OSM wiki and didn't see any reference to changing a name of a street like this based on its construction status. Is there somewhere on the wiki that supports changing the name of the street like this? Thanks :) construction=*

Hello. Thank you for your additions to the map. In the future, could you limit your changeset size to a smaller geographical area? This changeset covers the U.S. from California to New York City. Cheers :)

Hello. Thank you for your additions to the map. In the future, could you make your changesets smaller? This changeset covers two continents and much of the North Atlantic. Cheers :)

Howdy :) Thanks for all your work on the trails in this area. FYI, if you tag ways (trails) as "shared" (bikes & pedestrians), the OSM wiki says to add either segregated=yes or segregated=no. To quote the wiki, "This key has no default value and should be tagged on all shared ways" Trails lacking the segregated tag will pop up as errors on QA tools. You can see it in the link below. Keep up the good work. Cheers :) segregated=*
