| 95324743 | about 5 years ago | Based on the names, it looks like you're tagging snowmobile trails, consider also adding "snowmobile=yes" to make the usage more clear

| 95189539 | about 5 years ago | Names are good for public titles of things. Names like "House" and "Driveway" don't contribute any meaningful information and is more like clutter. I've removed those names. |
| 95189744 | about 5 years ago | Opps, looks like you changed East Pond road into a driveway. I've fixed it. Welcome to OSM and thanks for your edits. Please ask if you have questions. |
| 95060774 | about 5 years ago | Thanks for updating 295. I didn't know it had a name.

| 94730333 | about 5 years ago | Please use "Road" instead of "Rd" in names.

| 94731424 | about 5 years ago | In OSM, we don't use abbreviations in street names. Please use "Road" instead of "Rd".

| 94646732 | about 5 years ago | I've deleted the unnamed road, so it is no longer duplicated..

| 94487133 | about 5 years ago | "access is only with the permission of the owner" accurately describes a household, but it does not accurately describe a "private" land or "private" road. In Maine you don't need permission to be on "private land", you CAN be there unless told otherwise (a sign). That's the logic I use to support my position, but the reason I have taken this position is that if we put the access=private tag on EVERYTHING that is privately owned, then there is no way to indicate places that you REALLY can't go (like a sign saying keep out). I think it is important (and useful) to have a record of places where you are breaking a law to be there. I haven't personally visited the road you tagged, but if there isn't a sign or a gate, then I CAN go there, and I've broken no law. (I am not a lawyer) |
| 95008633 | about 5 years ago | Hi, welcome to OSM and thanks for contributing. I see you're marking some features as "access=private" which is used when there is a sign that says "no trespassing" or a fence/gate. On the other hand, to indicate that something isn't publicly owned, I suggest the "ownership=private" tag. I suspect that is more likely the case for the few roads you've just edited but I am not there, so I can't see what you're seeing. Please ask if you have questions. -Alex

| 94999021 | about 5 years ago | Welcome to OSM and I'm glad you're contributing from your home town. I noticed that you added two schools which both seem to have already been mapped as buildings in OSM, so there are now two duplicate elements representing the same things. In the future, see if something already exists and if it does, edit it instead of adding a new thing. Please ask if you have questions. -Alex (Random internet person)

| 94197071 | about 5 years ago | That's a lot of buildings! This looks like an import which raises some red flags. I've browsed it an the data quality seems reasonable, though it could use some more processing before changes are uploaded, or at least some discussion before you make more changes like this. Is there a place where you prefer to have public comments on your import(s)?

| 94487133 | about 5 years ago | Hi karren_k, welcome to OSM. I've been trying to create a clear distinction between places where people may not go, and places which are not publicly owned, which are different things. You used the 'access=private' tag, which to me means there is a sign that says "you can't be here" or a gate or fence. In Maine, if you haven't been you can't be there, then you generally can be there and the access=private tag isn't appropriate. If you want to document that something isn't publicly owned, I'd suggest the 'ownership=private' tag.

| 94596130 | about 5 years ago | I see you have made many small sidewalk contributions. Consider grouping changes together into larger changesets. It would certainly be easier to review.

| 94646732 | about 5 years ago | You moved an address (7 Prescott Drive) to be connected to the road (corner of Prescott Drive and Coffin Lane). We try to have addresses separate from the road where possible. I assumed this was a mistake and I've separated it back out. Also, you moved Coffin Lane south east, but there was already a road there, so now there are two roads in the same spot. I didn't find a street sign in street level imagery, and the street doesn't exist in the MEDOT dataset that I have, so I couldn't determine what it should be.

| 94664875 | about 5 years ago | When adding road names, please use the suffix "Road" instead of "Rd". We generally don't use abbreviations in osm names.

| 94951498 | about 5 years ago | Hi, you removed disc_golf_course and left golf_course, but based on the other tags, it seems the reverse would be more appropriate.

| 28498140 | about 5 years ago | You put way/325346505 directly across a river. Is that because it is only used when the river is frozen? |
