Hey!
Thanks for being receptive to feedback. I'm not worried about the few things you've done so far. I thought you might find some free time and do A LOT more, I wanted to do some gentle guiding before that.
I've been trying to find an official outline of "China Village". The wiki page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_Village%2C_Maine) describes an area smaller than you described. It also mentions a correlation with the zip code "04926". Would you agree with that? From previous research, I've found that villages don't necessarily have an official administrative boundary because villages aren't administrative entities. And even though anyone you ask will say they live in "China Villiage" they are governed by the municipality of "The Town of China". This was a major challenge during the address import.

Eh bub. Last time I drove by there wasn't a traffic signal here. Maybe you've been there more recently or maybe you know what will be there soon?

It is worth verifying that this boundary is approximately the correct shape?

I just noticed that there is already a parking lot to the south, at the town hall. I'm marking that as public access. Are there others?

95962943 almost 5 years ago

Hi, I'd like to help. I've removed the section of the trail that you indicated. I'm sure you know that a well-placed sign can help. If you're trying to "control traffic", it might help to indicate on this map where the parking lot is and make sure that it is connected to the trail head. If you're looking to make local recreation more accessible, I could recommend a number of other changes.

Hi, I'd like to help. Currently, that driveway is marked as a residential road (inviting to everyone) but I can change it to a private driveway which will prevent software from telling people to go there. But since I'm not there, I can't tell where the "private driveway" starts and where the road ends. Is it safe to assume that the private section starts here (node/101310979) and goes east?

Thanks. I have some tools which will make it easy for me to update this in bulk, but not tonight. I might ask you for clarification if I have any trouble.
Happy mapping.

You've put details about a business on its parking lot. I don't think that parking lot has a phone number, for example.

Why did you delete these addresses?

Thank you for your edits. I noticed you used the name tag for service roads (driveways) around the schools and a local businesses, which seems unusual. I looked on MS street view for a street sign, and I looked at the Maine Government dataset but I didn't find it named by either of those. Just a reminder that not everything needs a name, and if you have to "come up" with a name for something, then it probably doesn't have a name. As an example, you have way/884006201 named "China Primary School".

Hi Garrett, I imported all of these addresses and the government datasource sometimes had city keys which were... questionable. Since you corrected this, I'm assuming you are confident in the change. But if this one was wrong, then there will be many more nearby. If you'd be interested in working together, I'd like to fix all of the "south china"s which should be "china village"s. Are you interested? -Alex

Also... I'm curious. What sort of business do you run? Adding a link to your profile is free advertising and can give reviewers some context for your edits.

Thanks for contributing to the map. I used an automated process to add the address points, and as you've noticed, they are not exactly where they should be. I'm glad to see that you are aligning them with the buildings. If you're going to do more of this, consider combining the address node with the buildings you draw. The node was just a placeholder, and if there is a building with the address details then the node serves no further purpose. In the iD editor you're using, you can select the node and the building by holding shift, and then press C to combine them. Please ask if you have questions. -Alex

I'm curious, do you mean for way/44632030 to be underground?

way/11499611 has a fun zig zag on it's western end.

Hi AJ Barefoot, welcome to OSM. It looks like you're trying to add an address. You used the name tag, but that's for proper nouns, like "Livermore" or "Ken's Convenience Store", not for addresses. There are tags specifically meant for addresses so that they can be machine reachable. More information here: addr=*
Also, the address you're trying to add has already been added (by me, in February), see here: node/7215007787
I've deleted the address you added since it already exists. If this doesn't seem right or you have questions, feel free to respond to this message. -Alex

Hi. The tag amenity=university means that something is a university, but it looks like you're using it to mean that something is part of a university. So now it looks like there are many universities near each other. This area might be more accurate if there was a single boundary around campus with the tag, or if there was a relation which had all of these buildings as members. amenity=university

Hi and welcome to OSM. I can see you're adding something related to mushrooms, but I'm not sure exactly what and I'd like to try to help clarify it on the map. Is this a agricultural area for a business? Is this a place where anyone can come to forage? Is this a place where people can purchase mushrooms?

I see your adding crossings. It would make reviewing easier if you combine similar changes into a changeset instead of making many changesets with single changes in them.
