I changed access of different ways based on the signage. In this particular case (Way: 835868100), there was a sign saying "Wanderweg gesperrt" coming from the North, close to the building at Muleriensch 282 - which includes pedestrians. I suspect there has been a landslide or something making it impassible.

way/403780302 This cannot be used by a four-wheel vehicle, this is a path only. Why did you change from path to unclassified road? On what basis? I was there yesterday and cancelled your changes. If in doubt, leave paths as paths, otherwise you might cause problems for people in cars. Thanks

You changed the tag of way/246763924 to RESIDENTIAL ROAD, which I had added as a PATH based on a survey. I am not sure on what basis you did that. Friends of mine tried to go there last Sunday and got stuck in the mud. Paths are PATHS, even in residential areas. Thx

Hi
What are all these nodes without a tag? I deleted many of them, but they are too much.

On which basis did you change the way/549718519 to residential road? I had added it as a path, less than one metre wide, based on survey. This cannot be used by four-wheel vehicles!

On which basis did you change the way/549718519 to track? I had added it as a path, less than one metre wide, based on survey. This cannot be used by four-wheel vehicles!

From the Indonesian tagging guideline: "For alleys that can only be passed by a motorcycle (<1.5 meters) please use highway=path." This is too narrow to call it a Living Street.

way/1038162479 is not a trunk road. No need to add as a tag "motorcycle=yes", everywhere in Bali, motorcycles are allowed where cars can go.

Thanks

Hi Martin
I just saw your profile on OSM and I am happy to communicate with an enthusiastic mapper. I live here in Bali and map everything I can reach with my bicycle. I saw your tag of way/797929980 as "Living Street". It's actually too narrow for four-wheel vehicles and should be a path instead. In Indonesian, it's a "Gang", ok for motorbikes or pedestrians. I know that "Living Street" is in the Indonesian tagging guidelines, but it should be changed, because for a living street, you need a legal framework which prioritizes pedestrians before vehicles. What in Indonesia is called "gang", is either an "alley way" if it is wide enough for cars, or a "path". What do you think? In the meantime, allow me to reclassify way/797929980. Best wishes, Werner

These narrow ways to access residential areas are either "alley ways" or "paths" when they are only used by motorbikes and pedestrians. The name in Indonesian is "gang". There is no legal framework for "living street" how we know it in the West.

Thanks for coming back to me. Your suggestion makes sense. Two of these ways are part of the road network from the touristic centres in the South to the volcano Batur in the North, and therefore well travelled. I will make those changes if you don't mind.

Hi
thanks for contributing to Bali mapping. I wonder about changing this from secondary to primary, on which basis? I know this road well, it is not a major road and has little traffic. Regards....Werner

The tag "motorroad" makes no sense. In Indonesian, it would be "jalan toll" with no access for bikes and pedestrians. This is not the case.

I wonder on what basis you changed path/steps of way/180712947 to "Residential Road"? If a car or motorbike would try to go that way, it would be a disaster. Please leave the STEPS there.

Thanks Stephane, for coming back to me so quickly. This is the way/580375277. I tagged it as residential road. Living street is a western concept where through traffic is discouraged with certain features - not really found in Indonesia. Often they are alleys, very narrow streets mostly used by motorbikes and pedestrians.

85380386 almost 4 years ago

According to Indonesian tagging guidelines, there are no "living streets". This is not a residential road neither, rather a track used by local farmers.

58601800 almost 4 years ago

Hi
way/529966228 is not a residential road, it is a dirt path! Many access roads to residential buildings in rural Indonesia can only be used by motorbikes. My advice is to tag them as low as possible unless you know the width, otherwise car users will get stuck!

This does not make sense, a line tagged as a cliff?
