In den neuesten Kartenversionen unterstützt OsmAnd endlich die “turn lanes” ziemlich weitreichend. Dazu brauchte es offensichtlich nicht einmal ein Update der App selbst, sondern lediglich der Dowloadkarten, was ja ca. alle 14 Tage geschieht. Es macht Spaß, die zuvor in OSM eingetragenen Abbiegespuren nun auch bei der Navigation angezeigt zu bekommen (hier: Oldenburg, Niedersachsen):
Noch nicht ganz perfekt ist die gleichzeitige Anzeige von alternativen Möglichkeiten in Spuren, bei denen man z.B. geradeaus UND rechts abbiegen kann. Zwar wird die tatsächlich benötigte Richtung korrekt (grün) hervorgehoben, jedoch fände ich es schön, wenn auch die nicht benötigte Richtung sichtbar würde (im Bild wäre das der Geradeaus-Pfeil auf der rechten Spur) - ebenso wie ja auch die Richtung der anderen (links abbiegenden) Fahrspur angezeigt wird:
Jetzt gilt es nur noch, mithilfe von Bing weitere Abbiegespuren zu finden und zu taggen. Mit JOSM klappt das mittlerweile ganz gut.

I wanted to add turn lanes but I could find no option to configure the turn lanes or lane connector plugins for driving on the left.
Does anybody know if there is some option that I missed that would allow me to use those plugins for Ireland and other countries in the same boat

the turn lanes operate only with forward/backward property referred to the direction of the highway they are assigned to. So IMHO it is not important whether you have left-hand driving or right-hand driving. May be an application like JOSM doesn’t visualize this correctly, but in the actual navigation this doesn’t matter since you only see the direction you are driving.

I understand your point, I was referring to the JOSM plugins which allow you to easily create relations for turnlanes (lane connector & turn lanes plugins) both of which are set for driving on the right only.
When I try to use them, any changes I try to make, happen to the opposite side of the road

Using relations fo turn lanes isn’t very common. There are around 180.000 uses of turn:lanes and only around 45.000 used segments in turnlanes relations. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:turn:lanes

I use turn:lanes, too. The turnlanes relations are very confusing and IMO don’t fit some needs if i.e. one highway connected to “the” node is very short (i.e. because of a changing max-speed property).

I don’t use a special JOSM plugin, I just use mappaint styles in JOSM (this: https://josm.openstreetmap.de/josmfile?page=Styles/Lane_and_Road_Attributes&zip=1) to visualize the lanes and arrows, and I tag “by hand”. It appears that lanes i.e. in London are correctly shown as driving on the left!

Deine Screens sind schonmal recht hoffnungsvoll, dass da auf den Navis mal was passiert…
kenne mich mit Osmand nich aus, bzw. hab ich kein Android-gerät, kannst Du (für mich bzw. die Community) da offline Screens machen? Ich suche speziell Bilder zum Autobahn-routing am Kreuz Oldenburg, sowie Osternburg. Wenn das offline nich geht, kommst Du da beizeiten mal zufällig vorbei?
