Memory hog?

Posted by Yoshinion on 24 November 2017 in English.

OSM is taking up huge amounts of memory on my Chromebook. Is this a known issue or is it because of the huge amounts of tiles, features, etc. that defines OSM?

When you say “OSM” are you just browsing to www.openstreetmap.org in the (Chrome) web browser?

Using the editor.

Also, I have to reload the editor for the first time any time I open it, because the loading wheel sticks around, and I can’t select anything.

Maybe there are a very large number of things in the area - try zooming in as much as you can before you click “edit”. Does that help?
