Hi, Flap Slimy Outward
I modified the tagging from highway=unclassified to highway=service because, according to the OSM Wiki (highway=unclassified), highway=unclassified is meant for minor public roads that act as through routes in rural or suburban areas. These are usually roads that connect different parts of a town or countryside, not roads whose main purpose is to provide access to a specific place like a hotel, parking lot, or loading zone.

On the other hand, according to the OSM Wiki (highway=service), highway=service tag is for roads that give access to specific facilities—like parking lots, driveways, alleys, or delivery areas. Since this road leads to amenities such as stores and drop-off/loading zones, it fits the definition of a service road. The service=driveway tag, is also a common and recommended combination to be used with highway=service tag according to the highway=service wiki.
For what it’s worth, there are quite a few named service roads in Las Vegas, so it seems naming alone isn’t unusual for this type of road.

Hi Xenu,
Just one more follow up questio and thanks for confirming the existence of the path!

I was wondering if you'd be open to adding additional tags to this feature? Specifically, an informal=yes tag could help indicate that this is an informal or "desire" path, rather than a formally planned or designated route based on the informal tag wiki
informal=yes
As well as a surface tag that could provide more context about the condition of the path. The OSM wiki
surface=*

Best regards,
VLD062

Hi Xenu,

I'm reviewing changes in the area and noticed that you added a highway=path portion at 47.691154, -122.153402. Based on local survey, there didn’t seem to be any evidence of this path existing.
Could you please provide more information or context about why you mapped this path? I'd love to understand your perspective.
Thanks for your help!

Hi,

Hello! I noticed that you've used tactile_paving=yes on ways, and I wanted to point out that this might not be the best approach in certain situations. Specifically, for pedestrian crossings, tactile paving should only be applied to the way if it is used in a line across the entire crossing. If tactile paving is only present at the two spots where the footway ends, it should not be tagged on the way itself. For more details, you can refer to the OpenStreetMap guidelines on tactile paving tactile_paving=*#Use_on_nodes. Thank you for your contributions!

Hi une abeille,

Thank you for taking the time to share feedback for this changeset!

I've reviewed the area and made connections between sidewalks and streets with crossings, as you suggested.

Thanks again for your feedback!
Best regards,

Thank you for your response. I appreciate the local expertise and insight you've provided regarding the road in question. Based on your information, I will proceed with making the changes as suggested to this feature: way/689084070#map=18/22.767411/88.332304&layers=G

Hi Ritam Saha,

Thank you for your feedback. Since our local team in India is no longer with us, we rely on community input for map accuracy. If you're a local mapper or have local knowledge, I'd be happy to go ahead and make the necessary changes with your support. Hope to hear from you soon.

Best regards,
Jesspher

Thank you for your feedback, Trip Maker :) After examining the tags, I believe that the min:level tag is causing the buildings to appear as if they are floating. The intersecting/overlapping building that I had previously removed had the building:levels=9 tag, which I assume would fill in the gap where the building with building:min_level=9 is currently floating.
Am I understanding this correctly? If so, I can revert back the changeset to resolve the issue.

Regards,
Jesspher

Hi TheBestIdea!

I'm thinking of adding foot accessibility to this greenway (for example way: 1189989588), and I wanted to check in with you first. According to this map, it looks like walking might be okay here (https://www.traillink.com/trail/hudson-river-greenway/). But I'd love to get your thoughts on it if adding foot access would be a good idea? Any insights or concerns you have would be really helpful!

Thanks,
Jesspher

HelloMueschel,

Thank you for providing your feedback :) I am currently assisting VLD282 in reviewing and correcting these tags. Please find the necessary fixes in this changeset: changeset/157971443

I will look for other misused crossing:signal=* tags for Paris. Thank you!

Hey Sawera21! It looks like you've added features to OSM using data from Google. While we appreciate your enthusiasm for mapping, it's important to note that using Google as a source is not allowed on OSM.

To ensure the accuracy and integrity of OSM map data, we rely on contributors to gather information from their own ground level survey or from publicly available sources that are free from copyright restrictions.

Unfortunately, this means that any features you've added using Google as a source will need to be removed.

For more information on what sources are acceptable for use in OSM, please check out the OSM wiki page on copyright. osm.wiki/Copyright

If you have additional questions, please let me know. Thanks for your understanding!
