unfortunately not good mapping in some parts. The whole school building was deleted. Please add it again. Furthermore, please pay attention to not use the "name" for descriptions. Only official names like "Erft-Swist-Halle" belong to the name tag, not for example "Hof am Lehrerzimmer". This should go to the description. osm.wiki/Good_practice#Don.27t_use_name_tag_to_describe_things

Usually you add the source before uploading a changeset in your editor as last step. Unfortunately, once uploaded, you cannot add it later. However, you could comment on your own changesets like we do this discussion now and then write the source as comment. This will be very time consuming because you have so many changes. Another strategy is to add a source tag to each individual object. But I have no idea on how to automatically pull all your created objects.

I reverted this changeset. What did you wanna do? Something went horribly wrong.

Hi, I'm so sorry for the late response and that you had to send me a PN reminder because I haven't answered. I only check my mailbox and OSM account sporadically.
Of course this was a mistake! I think when dragging the map with iD Editor this happened. I corrected it.

Hi, Google Maps is not allowed and forbidden for OpenStreetMap. Don't use that source. "Tim Online" (NRW-Atlas) is allowed because of the free license. Only use allowed sources.
Please pay attention to rename all segments. You missed the one at the beginning. Also, if you rename a road, you have to change the name on ALL addresses (houses) belonging to this street. Because this is a rural area, you only have to change 6 addresses (numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8). Can you do that?

no big deal. I corrected the description of all the small phones I remember I've mapped/revised.

why removing nearly all tags from the Tesla Supercharger in Erftstadt? (node/4047402482). Must be a mistake, right? Please add all tags again.

The question I ask myself is: Why do you have a source to map a way but then at the same time have no source to know whether its private or not?
---
When looking at aerial imagery I can clearly see that this is private property. There is the street, next to the street is the sidewalk. And then it is pure logic and common sense (especially in Germany), that after that private property begins. You don't even have to be on site for this, it's just pure logic.
---
For me, leaving the way like it is now is no option. It creates routing mistakes and wrong informations. People who want to rely on OpenStreetMap data get wrong information because for example their app now routes them over this private property as shortcut and shows wrong arrival time etc.
---
There are 2 options for me: either you use and map the access (and service) tag or you don't map ways at all.
---
Because I live here and know this location/was on site I can gurantee you that it is private. So please correct your mistake and add service=driveway and access=private to the way.
---
Please also forward this information/discussion to your supervisor or manager. This is something that must improve in these Amazon Logistics contributions to OpenStreetMap.

Thanks in advance,
Kind regards

Hello again,

I see that you continue mapping, making the same mistakes again. Please first read my message, do the 2 things i want you to do and stop any further edits until this is done!

Kind regards

Hello chaubean,

you made a mistake. Two tags are missing, namely access=? (access=*) and service=? (highway=service)
Not that important, but still relevant is to use service=? (in this case: service=driveway) to specify which type of service way it is.

But most important, you forgot to use access=? (in this case access=private or access=customers would be right).
Because when you do not use this tag, especially here in this situation, ALL people (by foot, bike, hgv, car etc.) are routed over the private property of this car repair because it is the shorter route. Doing that in real life is illegal, so don't map it that way! Without any access=? this road is treated like a public road which is wrong.

I ask you to do 2 things:
1. Please correct your mistake and add service=driveway and access=private to the road.
2. Please report this fact to your supervisor at Amazon and tell him that from now on all of you mappers that are listed here (osm.wiki/Amazon_Logistics#Current_Users) should use these tags and not only highway=service. I noticed that nearly everyone from you makes these mistakes and this must improve.

Thankyou
Kind regards

@volojusa: Thanks for the explanation. I have corrected it at this place.

Hallo PT-53.
Was meinst du mit "Und wer bist du?".

Hello volojusa,

the edits you are making are kind of a problem. You are drawing simple service roads but do not specify them any further. That's not enough. Please read the wiki page, there are more tags than just "highway=service": highway=service. I recommend at least that you specify which service road type it is and you should specify the access! Because now, these roads you have drawn into the map are all PUBLIC! That means, navigation software uses these roads to route people, vehicle etc. which is WRONG. For example, the road you have added around the company "edoc solutions ag" is a PRIVATE one in real life! Nobody is allowed to use this road except the employees of this company. So you must tag this road with "access=private". Please do/correct this in this changeset and all of your changes before prior to making new additions. You should also tell your coworkers of the Amazon mapping team. Because with this kind of mapping it is kind of an improvement (adding something) but also a worsening of the map quality (wrong information).

One question: You map for Amazon logistics, but why are these roads necessary for your
logistics software? The road around "edoc solutions ag" is private, no logistics company is allowed to use this road. All cars with delivery goods need to stop on the main road "Metternicher Straße" and must go to the front door and ring the door bell there. So i guess the owner of "edoc" is not happy about this change making his private property visible as public in an open map.

Kind Regards

Guten Tag Herr Overland,

B. „fehlende Gebäude in Gelsdorf eingetragen“.

63860214 about 7 years ago
