Just checking - has "CeX Derby" really got the word "Derby" in the name? I walked past it the other day and didn't notice it (although I have to say I wasn't especially looking).

From the description, I suspect that way/203754068/history is not a studio in the "amenity=studio" sense at all.

Hi - I notice you've changed way/266574008/history from a track to a bridleway. Has the condition of it really deteriorated that much? When I was there last summer it was definitely wide enough to be a track. The legal status, restricted_byway is presumably unchanged?

Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
I notice that you've added the name "Bronte Way" to a piece of footpath at way/259219442 . I'm guesing that this isn't actually the name of an individual piece of path but actually part of the long distance route (currenly only a bit of which is mapped) relation/1537369 . Mapping long distance routes as relations make sense when (as in this case) a footpath or road as a name ("Ponden Lane") but is also part of one or more longer long distance routes. You can see them all (including the bit of Bronte Way that's mapped already) here:
http://waymarkedtrails.org/en/?zoom=14&lat=53.83118&lon=-2.01704&hill=0#
Anyway, hope you don't mind me mentioning this - just trying to help. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Are you sure that Exmouth node/21278290 really has both Russian and Ukrainian names? I've been to Exmouth many times (albeit quite a few years ago) and have never seen any Russian or Ukrainian signage. Can you point to anywhere where it is actually used?

Just because it's possibly to translate the characters into Cyrillic doesn't mean that it makes sense to store that Cyrillic transliteration in OSM, if no-one in Exmouth ever actually uses the Cyrillic name.

Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap!

I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but I just spotted that way/325892833 doesn't seem to join the road at the southwest end. If things join in real life it makes sense to join them in OSM too so that web-based routers and hand-held GPSs can direct traffic over the join.

One other thing that might be worth mentioning because you might think that it looks a bit odd - Lyonette Road here doesn't actually match the Bing imagery; it's offset to the south a bit. The reason for this I suspect is that the imagery itself is offset slightly. You can tell by looking at the underlying GPS traces for the road to the north layer in the editor. If you nudge the imagery so that they line up you'll notice that Lyonette Road will too.

Anyway, as I said I hope that you don't mind me mentioning this - any questions please do ask.
Best Regards, Andy.

Hello and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
Thanks for adding some footpaths in this bit of South Wales - there are relatively few mappers in this part of the world so every addition helps. One thing that I noticed though - way/328013701 doesn't seem to join the road at the western end (the imagery suggests it joins a service road that runs north). Having footpaths and roads that join allows hand-held GPSs (and now routing on the main site) to direct people over them, so if two things join in real life it makes sense to have them join in OSM too.
Anyway - hope you don't mind me saying this; just trying to help. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

It'll need someone to survey it on the ground. You can't tell for sure from aerial imagery whether there's anything physically or legally stopping you from getting from the footpath to the north through the caravan site to the main road.

I added note/314966 a while back. There aren't many mappers in this part of Wales, but there are some - and there'll be many more when the tourist season picks up in the Summer.

I can understand Mapbox's desire to "fix the map" but am surprised that so much effort is spent in places where there _are_ on the ground mappers (like the UK) and not where there _aren't_, like large parts of the USA.

Perhaps come back here when the last unreviewed TIGER "residential road" in the US has been fixed?

I'm guessing that the extra "g" on way/108048515/history is a typo?

@Spaudikas Mechanical edits (especially wide-ranging ones like this) do need to be discussed with the community first. See osm.org/user_blocks/603 and osm.org/user_blocks/604 .

28963839 almost 11 years ago

A discussion on the "tagging" list (which very few people read) and a wiki page (even fewer) isn't really a justification of a mechanical edit. However, at least people who wonder why there local ski-jump has changed will be able to see from this changeset discussion

28917667 almost 11 years ago

Er what? The only change to node/2612820325/history was the removal of a tag (a very odd one, sure).

28963839 almost 11 years ago

Hi - were the tag changes below discussed anywhere beforehand? I'm just wondering whether anyone who might be rendering the previous versions of the tags (for whatever reason) would know to update their maps or data extraction.

Hello, and welcome to OpenStreetMap!

I spotted this changeset because it popped up in the "history" for my local area, but that turned out to be because there's some bits in Chennai and some in Blanchardstown. However, I wonder if this node node/640776832/history was perhaps moved by accident? It was originally part of a building; now it's in a field.

28309021 almost 11 years ago

What about the link to the footpath to the north? Presumably a note still needs leaving open for that?

28949144 almost 11 years ago

Sorry - I had assumed that the "language" key had been added by the person adding the opening hours, not the person correcting them. Why "description:en" and not just "description"?

28949144 almost 11 years ago

I'm sure that the mapper just wanted to type "description" not "description:de". I bet the ":de" was just an editing faux pas - they typed part of "description" twice.

28901928 almost 11 years ago

Hello - what sort of thing is "shramjivi co-op hos society"? Is it a building, or a shop, or an office, or similar? Until it's given some sort of category like that maps won't know how to display it.
Hope you don't mind me mentioning this - just trying to help. If you've any questions please do get in touch.

28949144 almost 11 years ago

You've changed a "language" in node/1822102208/history but the previous tag was surely just a typo, not a language at all!
