| 85454316 | almost 4 years ago | Seems that the recent reconstruction is already in the database. The left lane direction city is left turn only a short section before Gereuthstr. In the direction out of city the right turn from Münchner Ring has an extra green arrow. The right turns in the Forchheimer str have little impact, only the Kaufland entry is sometimes noticeable. Münchner Ring between Forchheimer str and Berliner Ring also has a number of right and left turns without or with very short extra turn lanes, the right turn lanes onto Berliner Ring start just meters before the intersection so that they are typically blocked by the much heavier northbound traffic. Local signs are clearly inconsistent at the moment, in the Forchheimer str there are signs "Fernverkehr" and similar in both directions, coming from A73 the routes to city center and Würzburg would actually split at Forchheimer str and "cross" at the segment crossing the RMD channel which is of course nonsense. I believe the signs were perhaps changed in anticipation of the ongoing reconstruction of the A73 Bamberg south junction where various segments will be closed - it is probably easier to make a single sign change + detour at the intersection Münchnerring/Berliner ring than changing them several times in 3 places during the construction. >> and <<
Vorfahrtsberechtigte Durchgangsstraßen, die lediglich ein Stadtviertel oder ein Wohngebiet erschließen, sind typisch für: .. and here is the difficulty because signs and actual usage of the Forchheimer str differ diametrally. If you consider the actual traffic inside Forchheimer str probably 70-90% (depending on time of day) percent are through traffic and the rest Kaufland. I think this contradicts the criterium "Vorfahrtsberechtigte Durchgangsstraßen, die lediglich ein Stadtviertel oder ein Wohngebiet erschließen, sind typisch für highway=tertiary" but much better fits "Mehrspurige Durchgangsstraßen, die auch dem überegionalen Durchgangsverkehr dienen, sind typisch für: ...." Last not least, the Forchheimer str is constructed so that the through traffic is privileged. The turn to Gereuth for example is rather restricted, the turns to Kaufland are not but this is to accommodate for relatively rare big events. |
almost 4 years ago | Also the junction Berliner Ring to Forcheimer str was recently rebuilt with full two turn lanes in every direction, this does not look like a tertiary road.
almost 4 years ago | I don't think that labeling Forchheimer Straße beetween Münchner and Berliner Ring as "tertiary" road is correct. It is the main connection to the freeway from the town center and whole west Landkreis and B22 to Würzburg.
about 7 years ago | Hi, somehow the highway=* tag went missing in this edit. If this was intentional it is better to use something like "disused:highway=*" and add a note so other mapper know it was not by accident. For now I have added the tag back.
about 7 years ago | Please don't use highway=footway for nontrivial alpine paths or ferratas - footways are supposed to be good for "pedestrians" which is anyone who can barely walk.
about 7 years ago | Stomped over the unusual combination of via_ferrata_scale=5+highway=steps . Wouldn't it be better to tag it as highway=via_ferrata + rungs=yes?
about 7 years ago | Using footway for mountain paths or even ferratas is imho not a good idea, the wiki description says "for use by pedestrians" - and this generally means anyone who can barely walk. Better use via_ferrata or path, if you use path sac_scale is very important unless it is a really easy one.
about 7 years ago | Please open a ticket with OpenRouteService to support via_ferrata and/or ladder=yes, especially when they are part of a hiking relation. Routing hacks are not such a good idea.
| 61917014 | about 7 years ago | Hi, noticed that in this edit you added a highway=via_ferrata to a node that is a small distance away from a way called "via_ferrata" - so I merged the edits and hope it is ok like this - see
|
about 7 years ago | Is there a particular reason why oyu have retagged the ferrata as highway=path ?
over 8 years ago | @zstadler: most of the nodes natural=cave should be natural=cave_entrance but not all. It may be that in Israel the data is sufficiently homogenous that you can simply replace it but in other countries I found mappers tagged wine cellars, restaurants and many other objects with nodes of type natural=cave so it needs some manual checking.
over 9 years ago | Thanks, I have started osm.wiki/Proposed_features/natural%3Dcave and am looking at those places now
over 9 years ago | The reverted changeset clearly had some errors but I think many of the objects are in fact cave_entrances.
over 9 years ago | war ausnahmsweise auf Bing unübersehbar eindeutig, keine Mühe machen.
over 9 years ago | sorry.. wrong changeset comment leftover from an earlier changeset. I was doing some local fixes here.
