OpenStreetMap

Hi,

I am new to OMS editing. I use Potlatch 2 but would also switch to another editor.

My problem: I want to copy all tags from one object to another (in particular, if two ways have the same ore similar tags). Alternatively, copy and past of the complete way including tags would also be sufficient.

Any hints?

Thanks

In Mercaartor you can copy tags selecting the road and pressing cntl+C and then select the target road and press cntrl+V and then press O key for substitute all tags on the target object.

In Potlatch 2 you can use the shortcut "R" to copy tags from the last selected object to the new one.
See http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Potlatch_2/Shortcuts for other useful shortcuts.

In JOSM you can copy an object (Ctrl+C) and paste it (Ctrl+V) or just paste the tags onto the currently selected object (Shift+Ctrl+V).

Talking about ways, you make the way with the tags longer and split it. Than you have two ways with the same tags.
