Finally solved the problem with my E51 + Sports Tracker
Posted by MarkoN on 10 August 2009 in English.I have been trying to upload traces to site about my hometown but was hitting persistent error below.

Could not figure out why...so today to make sure I went to get a new set of data but while importing the same error was given.
Ok now is the time to take a look at the data. This is from the original file.

Not really brain teaser there...once I eliminated the Finnish curiosities "ä" from the file all was well.
The reason for this is the default setting on the Nokia Sports Tracker I have been using. Default user in Finnish language is "Matti Meikäläinen" which I hadn't changed before this.

In 2009, utf-8, utf-16, ucs, ect.... it's still a pain to deal with "esotic" chars. That's start to become boring. My family name has just a simple "ü" and i never know if the form will take it without problems.

Same here. I've "ö" and "é" in my family name.

Small problem but I didn't find this mentioned anywhere so thought to put to the internets for people to see...
Maybe this could be made an FAQ entry to Wiki if enough people are seeing this as a problem.
