152654047 | 23 days ago | So what is my "official" administrative unit then? It is Fermanagh and Omagh District Council who are supposed to empty my bins but can't even manage that these days! Even on the Councils official website, https://www.fermanaghomagh.com/app/uploads/2022/02/211201FODCComplaintForm.pdf they list their own address as :
If the local council are referring to County Fermanagh in an official address, why is it historic?!? |

When giving the place where the marriage took place / the place at which the civil partnership was formed you should write the words contained in the marriage certificate / civil partnership certificate which come after the phrase “Place of marriage / Civil Partnership formed at”, for example: “The Register Office, in the District of ... in the County of ...” |

152654047 | 24 days ago | Mister ramthelinefeed, what administration are you talking about? When I'm making my will I talk about being in the County of Fermanagh. My land deeds say County Fermanagh. Legislation regarding registering of land talks about County - https://www.legislation.gov.uk/nisr/1997/28/made Section 8 (vi) "the geographical description (e.g. street, town, townland and county) of the land affected by the document; and"

152654047 | 25 days ago | Hi, why did you change County Fermanagh to boundary=historic? |
170696838 | 25 days ago | I don't know who marked them as historic, wrote the wiki article or what motive was behind it. My comments are regarding this changeset, removing the tag place=county. I consider this changeset as vandalism. County Fermanagh is in MY address and thousands of other people who LIVE here. |
170696838 | 26 days ago | Even the Council put the County in their address, see - https://www.fermanaghomagh.com/get-in-touch/ bottom of page. |
170696838 | 26 days ago | If you are interested in fixing Nominatim address, why is it displaying "Fermanagh and Omagh District" as part of our addresses in Fermanagh? Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is the local council, but never used in our address! Royal Mail recommend putting the postal town in the address, which is ENNISKILLEN. But these postal areas are copyrighted data, so we can't use them in OSM. Can you please revert this changeset for Co Fermanagh and Co Tyrone? I know businesses and people in these counties put the County in their address. |
170696838 | 27 days ago | boundary=historic didn't affect the Nominatim addresses, and your change-set was labelled "Remove place=county from historic counties in Northern Ireland, improving Nominatim results". I just question your logic/reasoning of removing tags from boundaries, without asking or discussing it first. I wouldn't think about going into an area and mess with the tags, to "fix" addresses on Nominatim, because I don't know the area. There are plenty of active mappers you could have messaged and asked. There are plenty of businesses with address listed on websites to get an idea of what happens on the ground. |
170696838 | 28 days ago | There are people in our Government would love to make our counties and townlands historic. I've been at many meetings to campaign to protect our townlands, it has also been written into local law. However, we keep getting organisations like NISRA who when taking the last census, decided to drop all the townlands from addresses, in breach of local law. County Fermanagh is part of MY address which is why I am commenting on this changeset. I have given a number of large local businesses who also use the County when giving their address. Belfast is probably the exception to this as the city is spread over two counties. |

159063799 | 9 months ago | I was just on that section of road today and there is no actual speed limit signs. Approaching the roundabout from Enniskillen side the only sign is a warning roundabout ahead. Even when you get on the dual carriage way there are no signs saying 70. Coming back the other way from dual carriage way to Enniskillen there are warning signs saying Reduce Speed now, but the rumble strips force you down to about 30-40mph. Heading for Enniskillen, there was merger signs for the two lanes coming off the roundabout into one lane, but no speed signs. Feel like tweeting PSNI for comment? |
159063799 | 9 months ago | When I was learning to drive, any area that was lit by overhead lights, was assumed to be 40mph unless otherwise stated ie 20mph around schools or 30mph in built up areas |
159063799 | 9 months ago | Pretty sure a lot of these areas are lit, therefore speed limits are reduced to 40mph. There are also rumble ramps coming off the dual carriageway onto the roundabout, but no physical speed limit signs (way:262097519). These sections were purposely not tagged because the actual speed limit is not stated. |
157923963 | 9 months ago | Is this the roads actual name? If not, name should just remain blank |
144722833 | almost 2 years ago | I was under the impression that we used this tag to indicate a dead end (you would need another mode of transport to continue ie a ferry) and was to help routing. Part of the road is public, therefore has an official road name, maintained by the Roads Service or whatever they call themselves these days. Pretty sure this was discussed with OSMIE members at the time and what I have always used to indicate a particular road is a "dead end". osm.wiki/w/index.php?title=Dead_end Usually signposted with the following symbol - osm.wiki/File:Zeichen_357_-_Sackgasse,_StVO_1992.svg |

50432066 | about 2 years ago | The Erne Boat Hire company has a locked cabinet here they operate their business from. It's not really a building, more of a cabinet. Looking at their website it looks like they have upgraded to sheds on the pier a bit further up - https://erneboathireltd.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/online-booking-img.jpg |
