Satellite Imaging

Posted by Homosaur on 9 October 2021 in English (English).

A well.. appears I cant accurately add building to this map since the satellite images are old. The images available show the site before the foundations where put so it is hard (or maybe impossible) to add buildings without any reference point (plus I’m new to this so I know nothing).

Anyway, I’ll just keep studying the site and hopefully, I may figure out a way to add the buildings.

Location: Porebada, Central, Southern Region, Papua New Guinea

Have you tried switching aerial imagery layer?

In in-browser-editor you can go to background settings (layer icon, looks like a cake, 5th from top, 5th from bottom)

https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?editor=id#map=17/-9.38600/147.05447 has more buildings in Esri layer.

Wow… Thank you very much. I’m new at this so I really don’t know my way around (yet).

Thank you again!

Feel free to ask! Do not be afraid about it, it is normal to be a bit confused.

I know a lot and still continue to ask :)

BTW, something from https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contact_channels has chance to be better than posting diary entries
