Seems good, although I think you could improve it further by dropping the shop link. I like your renaming of the Wiki Homepage

Looks much clearer - I like the focus it gives to the important pages. I would drop the shop link too.

Its good. much more focused. It should help to draw people in especially newbies. One suggestion, make all the secondary words lower cased. Who is the wiki sidebar keeper? Let's get him on it.

I don't know about the Shop link. I guess it could simply be moved below the Donations link to give that one more focus.

Yeah I saw your redesigned sidebar. It looks nice.

I can make some of the changes you're suggesting, but not others. That's because I can edit the wiki page here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Sidebar which controls some of the sidebar, but not all of it.

Other changes ('This wiki page' and 'wiki toolbox split') are only possible by changing the MediaWiki skin. Although it's easy enough to rearrange links within the skin code, it can potentially make it more difficult to apply updates to the wiki software. That's just a possible downside. In practice it may be do-able. I'd have to ask firefishy to do it (he has server access)

Another problem is that these things can hint at consistency with the front page design, and that's a whole other thorny discussion. But let's take it one step at a time.

I like the idea of changing "Main Page" to "Wiki homepage". We'd want to actually rename the page too, and this is more of an undertaking. I've proposed this change, to set things in motion here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Main_Page#Rename_this_page
