Review: Looks good!

Could do with access/gate on the service road off Upper Lincoln Street (initial bit should also likely just be a service road not driveway)... but this is minor stuff :)

Thanks for the edit!

Requested review: This does not seem to be a single building in the latest aerial maps, and as far as I can remember from being in the area.

Since you have mapped it as a single building with 5 levels, it seems to be incorrect. This area can be marked off as a retail area rather, then have the individual buildings and parking+access mapped instead.

Lastly: Does it have a single house number/address? The other details look fine however!

Thanks for the edit!

Hi there,

As you requested a review: Your addition of 47 Backpackers looks in good order... however you did delete the building accidentally?

Also do those other businesses still operate from the same area?

All in all, not bad... the building can be fixed. Thanks for asking for a review!

Hey there -- thanks for filling in your details so comprehensively! The addition is welcome.

My only two notes (you requested a review) is that the elevation is set on the Harem Pants node (point), this is the nerdy elevation, so obviously not 0m above sea level... even if close! :)

Other than that, the descriptions on both points should be more objective; Less "We are ..." etc. Short and concise.

Cheers and thanks again.

Hey alanz,

Thanks for the edits, I see you chipping away bit by bit on that side!

Just a little review as requested:
The building you updated the name of had a restaurant tag already there, that should be removed.

Otherwise fine :)

Also be aware that there are better aerial images to work from; The Cape Town ones are getting 2018 version 'sometime', and otherwise the ESRI images are generally pretty good in most of SA.

Hey hey -- glad to see another edit!

Review:

VIA Gym & Outdoor Warehouse (moderate); This should be a retail building, without a name (or with the actual building name), with two nodes, one an outdoor shop named Outdoor Warehouse, and a gym node named VIA Gym.

Houses/buildings (minor): These look pretty good considering the old aerial map you're using... I'd just square them (select the building outline and hit 'q' or right click for the menu etc).

Open spaces (minor) : I'm not sure if that area signboards parks with the '-open space' in the name, but generally parks should be officially sign-boarded parks. For public maintained grass+tree areas, using 'grass' for the area type is good (landuse=grass).

Thanks again for the updates and improvements.

Hi there,

Welcome and thanks for your edit!

Here's the review you asked for:
Elkana House as you have added it is a school building. This should be changed to a school ground (in the web editor). There is already an (old) Elkana node present too, so it'd be good to remove that at the same time.

In regards to Pelargonium Street etc; These roads are not on the latest official maps and look a bit rough... however thanks for keeping it current!

Lastly, you used the very old national aerial images, these are fairly poor compared to the Cape Town Aerial map or ESRI ones. You can find those in the 'Layers' menu on the right-side of the editor (3 layered squares).

Thanks again,

Hi there,

This tagging has no real place in OSM at the moment and should be corrected/removed.

Most companies wanting to show this stuff using OSM keep their data in a separate database and overlay it using OpenLayers/Leaflet etc.

Thanks,

Thanks man, no problem!

Hey there,

What are these changes in regards to? While I know you're a good contributor... 'm' does not really help us locals to know what you're working on or check for possible problems! :)

(Also... The ESRI images are far better for the Cape Town area too, Bing is some of the worst)

Thanks!

Waited a month then removed. Apologies if this was a legit edit.

Hey there,

This place/POI is already on the map as "DR Q Botha - Chiropractor". Both have fairly good tagging information. One should be removed.

Thanks for the edit!

Thanks for sorting this out Jnanesh.

Bonus points for the gates and all, much appreciated! :)

Hi there,

Thanks for the edit... but it's not been done very well.

This is a service road, the nodes are poorly placed and the way crosses a building. The connection to Craigrownie Road is totally incorrect (there is a wall in the way).

Hi there,
You attached the point you were adding into the road path. I've extracted it, made it a Guest House and put it in what seems to be the correct location. Please check the other tags to make sure things are correct!
Hope that helps :)

Hi there,

Does this actually exist or is it an error? Could you provide more information about this stop?

Thanks!

Hey there, these internal mapping things don't seem to render correctly on Mapnik and ... I'm not exactly sure what to do about it. Not sure if you'll get this message, so leaving a note on the building too.

This change is entirely incorrect. I am not sure what you were trying to do. The previous area of Kirstenbosch is correct. It does not include Newlands forest.

Please revert this change

What was the purpose of this edit? You have changed a road into a basic line (Ophir rd) and added a foot path that does not exist.
