It looks like some cycle lanes are added as separate ways, but they aren't necessarily separated from the rest of the roadway. Also some of the roads are already tagged with cycleway=lane. I think some of these ways should probably removed according to how things are described in cycleway=*.

Hello again. Just checking in about this. I'm wanting to make some mass edits to remove the "bicycle=yes" tags on various service roads where this value is implied. I'd be happy to chat if you feel strongly about this.

Oh cool, you're also a Wandrer user! I just signed up this month.

I think there may be a difference of opinion here on what counts on Wandrer and what doesn't. According to https://wandrer.earth/filters, it says "...generally highway=trunk, trunk_link, footway, service, and bridleway are removed [from the list of roads]".

I think it'd be good to have some alignment around whether these particular roads should count or not on Wanderer. You're right that they allow riding, but it seems like a better remedy here is to try to change Wandrer's algorithm instead of making these edits. The data in OpenStreetMap shows up not only in Wandrer but all other applications that consume OpenStreetMap data too, so this may have some other unintentional side effects.

Btw, there's a discussion on Strava about this if you want to jump in: https://strava.app.link/1Nv0R2qzrUb

Hi there. I see in a lot of changesets you are adding explicit bicycle=yes and foot=yes to roads where the implied values for these are already "yes". Is there a specific reason you're adding these values? Seems like it may not be necessary.

Haha, ok. I'll try to keep the edits somewhat light.

I hadn't heard of this editor before, so I tried it out and it's pretty neat! Thanks for mapping in my area!

Hello fellow local building mapper! I like your edits!

Keep up the good work! It's so fun to see another local mapper pick up where I left off!

Nice work! The USGS 3D Elevation Program is a game changer for mapping streams in forests!

You have done great! It can take a while to learn how to make good edits, so no worries at all. As long as you're leaving the map better than you found it, you're making a good impact.

There are lots of resources on the OSM wiki and there's also a forum where you can chat about making edits too.

I went ahead and did some more edits in your vicinity. I discovered that the USGS 3D Imagery actually has a really good outline of the grading of roads and riverbeds of stream. Using this, I'm able to see the roads through the trees way better. It'll help improve my mapping.

Hello there! I'm a local mapper from Scotts Valley and I created these driveways and vegetation outlines.

I did my best given what I could see in satellite imagery. However, it's great to have your edits correct my mistakes.

Hello, I'm a mapper from Scotts Valley. I noticed that you requested a review, so I'm giving this a review.

Your changeset looks nearly perfect. I'd also just change the "access" tags to note that travel is now possible. Right now, since the "access" tag is set to "no", trip planners will assume it's not possible to travel along the road.

I just saw this changeset while working on some updates. While Creston is not included in the https://github.com/eggert/tz/blob/main/zone1970.tab file, it is within the https://github.com/eggert/tz/blob/main/zone.tab and may be useful for some people interested in a fuller dataset of timezones.

While the wiki article (timezone=*) doesn't mention exactly which one to follow, I would advocate for keeping Creston unless it was marked as suspicious and determined to not exist after all.

Hey there! I'm a local mapper from Scotts Valley, California. I see that you requested a review of this changeset, so I'm giving it a review.

The house you added looks great! Since this house does appear to be a historic house with a Wikipedia Page, one improvement could be to add a "wikipedia" tag that links to the Wikipedia article. This is possible to do fairly quickly using the OpenStreetMap editor that you used to make this edit.

Happy mapping!

Hey there! I'm a local mapper from Scotts Valley, CA. I see that you requested a review of this changeset, so I'm giving it a review.

All the changes made here look great! If you're looking to make even more edits about businesses, I'd highly recommend you check out either the EveryDoor or StreetComplete apps which both make adding information about businesses really quick, easy and fun to do while you're out in the field.

Happy mapping!

Hey there! I'm a local mapper from Scotts Valley, CA. I see that you requested a review of this changeset, so I'm giving it a review.

It appears that you're adding a business to OpenStreetMap that is likely a person's home-based business. This does expose you to certain privacy concerns, although you do include the same address and other personally identifiable information on your website. If you have a separate office, it would be wise to add the business at that location instead.

With all that being said, most of the edits looks good except for the opening_hours. OpenStreetMap unfortunately has a terrible UI for correctly setting the opening hours! I'd recommend using the EveryDoor app or StreetComplete app which both have a much better editor to update the opening hours.

Happy mapping!
