Sidewalk tags in Cluj-Napoca (Cluj county, RO) - IN PROGRESS

Posted by miepure on 4 January 2016 in English. Last updated on 7 January 2016.

I’m kicking off a ‘sidewalk’ project for Cluj-Napoca, meaning that based on highway level, I will be adding sidewalk tags in the following weeks, as time allows. Focus (for the moment) will be on:

*trunk roads (+links) - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/dyc - 30 ways - DONE!

*primary roads (+links) - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/dyd - 279 ways - DONE!

*secondary roads (+links) - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/dye - 239 ways - DONE!

*tertiary roads (+links) - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/dyf - 11 ways - DONE!

*and residential roads - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/dyg - 1557 ways - IN PROGRESS (12.4%) (…it’s gonna take a while :) )

‘Sidewalk’ tag status on Jan 1st, 2016 in Cluj-Napoca - http://overpass-turbo.eu/s/dxy

This is great. We are doing similar work on sidewalk in the US, see: http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/srividya_c/diary/37594

There are several ways to map sidewalks, but, I encourage you to look on the above post if its relevant for you.

Keep on mapping!

Excellent stuff! As someone who regularly walks between towns when the weather doesn’t really allow the use of footpaths etc., I find mapped footpaths far more useful than addresses :)
