Adobe has discontinued Flash for Linux (unless you get it through Chrome, anyway), so don’t expect that to last.

Java runs in Linux doesn’t it? So you can always run JOSM (which is a lot more powerful than Potlatch, but admittedly takes a little learning… but then again you are running Linux so…)

Yeah, interesting set of problems. Thanks for noticing my issues, SamatJain and ca_hoot. Maybe I will check out JOSM before flash 11.2 gets old and dies.
