I'm fed up with all this spam on the RSS feed, especially Chinese
Posted by cypriend on 21 November 2014 in French (Français).Administrators, please stop them. Hundreds of posts of Chinese spam, not to mention companies who also put advertisements here. As much as there are sometimes interesting posts, most of them are spam, so I’m stopping following this thread. So long!

No one has volunteered to contribute the code to allow reports to be made for spam, enable captchas, or that kind of stuff. If you know some rails, that would be very welcome.

I agree with you. There are so many spam posts in Chinese. I hope there’s a button to report these posts to the administrator so that they can be removed. Although this cannot solve your problem by using RSS feed, if there’s something like that report function, I, as a native Chinese, would greatly like to help identify and deal with these spams.

Hope this helps: A page in the OSM Wiki where they post/document instances of spam

Chinese are forbidden mapping by their country’s law, so they spam and vandalize out of jealousy. Why not ban all Chinese IP?

Hi Jedrzej, I’m so sad to read what you said in your comment. Although it’s illegal to map here in China, that doesn’t mean we’re jealous of this enthusiastic community and we hate any forms of vandalism of course, no matter it’s in diary posts or in the live osm geodatabase. SPAM is a common phenomena on the Internet, that is, it not only exists in China towards OSM community but also takes place in any other places towards any website or email addresses, so I think it’s better to prevent it technically and rationally rather than slandering others. They also show up in the Twitter feed (@osmblogs), though truncated enough that it’s less annoying. I didn’t realise they were all spam though.
