improved GPS Trails locator

I'm always on the lookout for interesting GPS trails to experience through Google Earth in my StarTraX GPS animation program (download FREE to your PC from http://www.gpsanimator.com)
I would really like an improved searching facility on the GPS Traces page - it's limited to searching by tags, not all of which are very complete. It would be great if you could provide a search by proximity to a co-ordinate - eg to find trails containing points say within 10 miles of a user-entered co-ordinate?

You have to type in the browser's address bar - at least a search box for tags would be nice...

I'd like to have something like "list nearby gpx-tracks" If the person who uploaded the track didn't tag the track in any way you're lost. You can only trace over it using potlatch (I hate this!) or get it via "Raw GPS data" when downloading in josm - there you get the data but only partly depending on the viewpoint and if there are lots of raw data you are getting crazy!...
