Iran’s onosm notes The onosm notes in Iran have reached an absurd level, to a point where we should, if possible, consider whether to shut down those notes there entirely. Currently, there are 339 onosm notes in the recent 500 on neis-one. Let me know your opinions on this.

Reference codes I am unsure how to use reference codes. I added them for the WVMS fields as WV-01 and similar, but I had no clue whether to add such things for Camp Saginaw bunks as Bunk C or Bunk 9, or even the C Building in WVMS. Really, my question is, how broadly should this feature be used?

Do we know anything about who’s leaving the notes and what they’re about? If it’s just ordinary people leaving notes to try and correct the map or add things then it could be a good opportunity to get people into mapping. If it’s mappers themselves then we may want to point it out with the Iranian community in case some of its mappers need some guidance. If it’s spam or non-osm related then maybe making notes harder to add would be a good idea but that should be a last resort.

339 notes does not sound much for a whole country. Please don’t shut down the notes only without resolving them.

I was saying that there are 339 onosm notes in the most recent 500 through https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-notes-country-custom?c=Iran Many of them are junk like: onosm.org submitted note from a business: Accepted payment methods: takeaway=undefined
I have resolved a small chunk of these notes already, and I was wondering whether there was an easy route through all this. Obviously, I have no idea what is causing this, and maybe it’s some good and some bad, meaning we should leave it as is. Thoughts?

One of the main things I was trying to say here was that they keep coming up, and if anyone can, I strongly recommend fixing the issue by any means.
