mapping with new phone

Posted by Hawkeye on 10 October 2010 in English.

I just want to say that I am really impressed with OSMTracker app for my android phone. Makes mapping really easy and productive. Many thanks to the developer; nguillaumin. It free and open resource too. Added lots of POIs to my local area with today.

Yes, OSMTracker is good, the only problem is that it doesn't save data immediatly. When your phone crashes, all data is lost.

Therefore, I always use a backup: I put OpenGpsTracker on while I use OSMTracker to add info and POIs.

If you are having problems with OSMTRacker just give nguillaumin a note in the issue tracking system on his website.
He is really friendly and quick on fixing it!
Keep us (and him) supporting OSMTracker!

I've also experienced a crash due to a long recording I presume.
Now I periodically save the data : stop the track and start a new one, better safe than sorry and it's working fine.
