Hello dkdfh,

I’m still not sure what your native language is. Do you prefer to write in German, Russian or another language? Do you have trouble understanding (my) English? If so, please tell me/us and we’ll try to make a language choice that better suites you.

(Schreib mir bitte kurz, falls du Deutsch zur weiteren Kommunikation bevorzugst!)

(Пожалуйста, напишите мне Короче говоря, если вы предпочитаете русский язык для дальнейшего общения)

I have asked you twice to react to changeset discussions and I insisted that you comment at least on all changeset discussions named in the first and second block message. You did answer to a single changeset comment stating “OK. Got the idea.” while you obviously did not: You did a new change (https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/39183508) to a playground, changing your older edits. While it’s a good idea to remove the leisure=playground tag from a swing, adding area=yes does not make it much better and keeping name=swing tag does not make sense either. The name-tag is used for giving things an official name, i.e. naming an element. E.g. a church has a name or a street has a name, but a swing is a swing and swing is not the name of the swing. So you should not use a name-tag for that. As jlcod did explain in the original changeset (see https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/39170535) there’s a quite detailed mapping scheme for playgrounds (https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:playground) also featuring swings (playground=swing). So please make use of these tags instead!

On another note, all your changesets have a changeset comment of either “details” or “Some features”, which is not very descriptive. Good changeset comments are essential and make it easier for other mappers to follow. It’s a matter of courtesy to try to make them descriptive. For more details please have a look at this wiki page about “Good Changeset Comments”.

Anyways, I don’t necessarily want to discuss mapping practices but I used the swing as an example why changeset discussions and reacting to other members of our community is important. And this is just a single changeset where you got a comment from other users. Although I requested that you do comment on the other changesets, too, before you continue to edit, you still did continue. It’s been only a few edits, but still you did.

So I have to note again that this is unfair to other mappers who also try to enhance the map and who are now waiting for your response and who are watching your edits and fixing your errors. That’s why I’m placing another block on your account: I’m blocking your account for 24 hours, so you can’t edit for that period. This should give you the time to read the comments on your changesets, it should give you the time to think about the substance of the comments and about what you’re going to reply. Btw, I’m not implying that everything that was commented on is an error on your side, but I’m expecting that you at least start a discussion if you think one of your edits was not an error.

So to summarize what I/we expect from you:

  1. Write me/us if you have problems to understand the block messages. Tell us your preferred language
  2. Comment on changeset discussions
  3. Choose good and descriptive changeset comments
  4. Start/Participate in discussions if you have problems to understand a tagging practice or if you think a comment is inappropriate

Here’s a (incomplete) list of changesets with open changeset discussions waiting on your reply:

I hope you don’t get me wrong on that. We appreciate your edits and your participation in OpenStreetMap. But we have to make sure it’s not only fun to you, but also stays fun for our other community members!

Thanks for your consideration,
