Hello kechan_tagfix,

After the discussion on https://openstreetmap.org/changeset/131300925 and https://resultmaps.neis-one.org/osm-discussion-comments?uid=18157288 I had hoped that you would no longer make unsourced changes to OSM data. Unfortunately, https://osm.mapki.com/history/node/9670981349 suggests that you are still doing exactly the same thing. The changeset comment there is just “update tags according to iD”, which is not a valid reason to change tags on its own.

This has been raised here: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-gb/2023-February/029990.html as as I said I’d do there I’ll revert these unsourced changes.

Once you have read this message please email data@openstreetmap.org with a subject of “Re: [Ticket#2023011510000079] kechan_tagfix” and explain that you will no longer make changes such as this without any actual source. Making changes based on valid sources for OSM, including local survey, is of course perfectly OK. When we receive that message, we will revoke this block.

Best Regards,

Andy Townsend, on behalf of OSM’s Data Working Group.

Edit: User has now contacted the DWG and assured us that they will not make these sorts of problematic changes again.
