Dear DPW2025 mappers,

it appears that you are participating in an organised mapping activity about adding buildings in Kenya. Some of you have uploaded to many buildings in a short time that it seems like these buildings are being imported from a third-party data source. Many of you have used the source tag “Mapbox” without giving further details.

Please understand that any import of third-party data, as well as any organised mapping effort, needs to be discussed in the OSM community before it can commence. From manually reviewing some of your contributions, it appears to me that you are often adding only a fraction of buildings visible on aerial imagery (e.g. there are 30 buildings on screen but only 3 of them are recorded). This raises questions about your goals and process with this contribution.

Before you continue importing this data, please ensure the appropriate discussion is held, and link to such discussion in your changesets so that other mappers can see what your goals are, what sources you are using and why you have chosen to add only a small part of buildings.

Also, please provide meaningful changeset comments: “#DPW2025” is not sufficient to tell the average OSM volunteer anything about your activity.

If you continue adding thousands of buildings without any documentation, all “#DPW2025” contributions are liable to be removed.
