Dear user Mike Tango Nomad,

I am writing this message as a blocking message which forces you to read it before you can continue mapping.

What I am about to tell you has been told to you by other mappers but you haven’t reacted so there’s a possibility that your OSM email settings are wrong or maybe OSM messages are ending up in a spam folder. Please check these settings and ensure that messages sent by other mappers actually reach you, and reply to such messages (or improve your mapping) where appropriate.

In the future, could you please:

  1. Use proper changeset comments that explain what you did. “Maps Updated” is a description that matches 100% of edits made to OSM so it is not useful. See osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments for a more detailed explanation.
  2. Do not add addr:postcode tags to streets (like eg in changeset/176869973). The addr:postcode tag is meant for buildings.
  3. Most buildings in Western Europe are actually rectangular. Many of the buildings you have drawn are, however, slightly ajar. The ID editor allows you to “square” a building after drawing it - just hit the “Q” key while the building is selected!

And finally, if editing OSM is part of your employment, then please put a couple words about that onto your user profile pages (“I work for X company and I edit OSM for the purpose of Y”) as this is required by our Organised Editing Guidelines

Thank you
Frederik Ramm
