Please consider adding "access=private" tags to the gates leading into the UNDOF camps instead of tagging all the roads and paths in them with "access=private".

Other than reducing the mapping effort, in my opinion, the proposed approach is probably more representative of the truth on the ground. Most probably, the access restriction is enforced at the gates while within the camps themselves there are few or no access restrictions.

This change looks like a degradation in the value of the mapping. Please see highway=corridor :

*Rendering*
Very few renderers render corridors. One that does is OSMAnd, which internally converts highway=corridor to highway=footway + tunnel=yes.

*Comparison*
As of 2026-02, there are 79222 highway=footway + indoor=yes , more numerous than the 70010 highway=corridor instances. Close to 80% highway=corridor also have indoor=yes added, with overlapping meaning. For other highway=* features, indoor=yes has been used on 37721 highway=steps , 7952highway=elevator , and 2825 highway=service roads.

In contrast to highway=footway, highway=corridor seems to be ignored by some routing engines (as of 2025-08, at least GraphHopper and OSRM ignore it, while Valhalla seems to understand it), leading to problems if corridors are meant to have connecting function through a building.

I have not seen a Hebrew name for this intermittent stream in all maps I have access to. What is the source of this name change? Have you assigned the name based on עין חנדק (node/4319817216)? OSM mappers are not expected to invent names and put them on the map.

Note that the previous name Wadi Yusuf - ואדי יוסף does appear in a British map from 1940's:

Please be careful when changing or deleting other mapper's work.

I have used this path, and so have many hikers, as can be seen in the GPS traces uploaded to OSM.

The fact that the path is not marked can only serve as a reason to avoid tagging it as such. It does not justify deleting it from OSM.

As a side note, unrelated to the OSM criteria on mapping, the "official" map for marked trails (מפו סימון שבילים) clearly show unmarked trails and roads in Israeli Nature Reserves. The Israeli Nature and Parks Authority (רשות הטבע והגנים) is a member of the ITC (הועדה לשבילי ישראל) that produces these maps.

Yes. If a gate exists "on the ground", it can be mapped. If there are no restrictions on passage, then the tagging would reflect that.

As to the "is it worthwhile mapping?" question, I believe it is up to the mapper. In the same line of thought, one may question the need to map barrier=cattle_grid. IMO, this could serve as an orientation mark, just like an information=guidepost.

BTW, it would be more appropriate to bring topic in a discussion forum rather than here.

Do you suggest that mapping the area of the "place=village" is meaningless? Why?

P.S., I do not see good coverage of the Daliat el Karmel village with landuse=residential objects.
