why did you tag this as 'under construction'? The Belgian side has been maintained and ready for operations since years/decades. It's the German side that needs reactivation. Unless you can show me there's actual works going on there?

Hey sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the response! That reaffirms your edits are probably correct, ETCS related speed increases. I'm cautious because in the past people have invented speed limits or edited to what they felt was right. :)

Hey Sikal, what is your source on the higher speed? Has the speed been updated recently? I'm asking cuz I found Eimai, the last updater of the maxspeed stat to be very trustworthy in this regard.

hey, would it make sense to tag the ETCS on this line and the Hanzeline as disused? (disused:railway:etcs=yes) (or =2; not sure what would be the correct syntax here)
As afaik the ETCS is not in use by any of the trains on these lines.

Where are these short names used other than the source file linked?

This doesn't appear to be the intention of short_name to me, and it's messing up the view on ORM (openrailwaymap).

If it really is an official use, I guess it needs to be put under another attribute. short_name is meant to shorten things like Hauptbahnhof to Hbf, not to replace a station name by 2 letters.

If it is not an official use outside this one file, it might as well not be here imo.
