| 167281689 | 6 months ago | Hello ZagaX, The Mexico/National Road Network wiki page (osm.wiki/ES:Mexico/Red_Nacional_de_Caminos#Troncales_(https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway=trunk)) is the official Mexico community approved classification system adopted for OSM which as an organized team we adhere to. If you find this policy out-of-date or too restrictive, a good first step would be to introduce the issue on the Mexico Telegram channel (https://t.me/osm_mx (found on the main Mexico OSM page osm.wiki/ES:M%C3%A9xico)) for community wide discussion. Whatever the Mexico OSM community officially adopts and updates on the country wiki, we are happy to adhere to. Have a good day! Some of the features upgraded to trunk (such as way/31067345 to way/983609238) now end abruptly or are isolated from the greater trunk network. There are similar cases that travel along the MEX 2 within Agua Prieta itself (such as way/312995491 to way/312993704 and way/312993708 to way/983908761). The Mexico OSM editing guidelines page has criteria for trunk road classifications that indicate some of these classification changes differ from community direction and clearly states,“If there is a section with traffic lights, that section cannot be trunk so it is put as primary.”(osm.wiki/ES:Mexico/Red_Nacional_de_Caminos#Troncales_(https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway=trunk)). In order to maintain consistency within the Mexico highway network, would you be open to restoring the trunk along the MEX 2 back to primary, and the trunk along Avenida 20 de Noviembre back to secondary? Thank you for your time and have a nice day,

| 162046389 | 11 months ago | Hello Salviomar Rocha, while working in Brazil I noticed that some trunk highways were upgraded to motorway (Example: way/128403023-https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/128403022). According to the wiki page for motorways, this classification is reserved for highways of highest importance and should be used on roads with control of access designed for high-speed vehicular traffic (highway=motorway). The residential roads (such as way/240736797 and way/239607538) that connect to Rodovia Governador Mário Covas/BR-101 (way/775578513) do not have access controlled ramps which does not align with the Brazil international equivalence for motorways (osm.wiki/International_highway_classification_equivalence). In 2019 Mapillary, a pedestrian crosswalk is visible where Rua da Associação’s connects to the motorway (https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=-7.562916900806627&lng=-34.990223272096955&z=16.632047025073426&trafficSign=all&pKey=126881332748681&focus=photo&x=0.4919649754812332&y=0.5632477031826518&zoom=0). Do you know if construction is planned for full access control upgrades along BR-101 and BR-230? If not, would you consider reclassifying these features back to trunk to be consistent with classification guidelines? Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

| 162210859 | 11 months ago | Hello ferog_v, working in Mexico I noticed you changed the ref tag value MEX-180(from-way/29102938 to-way/1196247465) and replaced it with the value of “VER”. I know that you often use a confirmable resource but the wiki for Mexico highways(osm.wiki/ES:Directrices_de_etiquetado_mexicanas#Od.C3.B3nimos_de_v.C3.ADas) states “State roads are identified with the abbreviation of the state and their route number” but this highway does not have a numerical value, it only contains the state abbreviation. |

| 161361758 | 11 months ago | Hello ferog_v, thank you for responding. I have reviewed those resources you have cited. For the most part, those look well documented and clear in the approach to routes that should be classified as trunks. However, in regard to the Ejes de Transporte page with lists of routes and the map of them provided there, there is at least one instance where the current OSM data does not match: The MEX 175, MEX 175D is currently classified as motorway and trunk along way/344953332 https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/783095840 but it is not listed on the Ejes de Transporte wiki page. Do you know if there is an updated map that includes that route for completeness? If you do have access to that information could you update the wiki page with it? It would be a great help to have the most current information to conform mapping to it and get consistency in Mexico’s priority road classification scheme where there has been a lot of disagreement recently. Thank you and have a nice day.
traducción automática Hola ferog_v, gracias por responder. He revisado los recursos que has citado.

| 161361758 | 11 months ago | Hello ferog_v,
I also noticed that some classification gaps were left behind (way/193411843-https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/905196171) as well as lingering link roads (way/103552977). The OSM wiki states that consistent classification tagging is best practice for overall HPR network connectivity (highway=*). Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

| 160520094 | 12 months ago | Hey carlosassuncao92, I noticed that you changed some “route=ferry” tags to “route=boat” for example: way/227850799. The ferry tag policy on the OSM wiki states that tag is designated for any route of a public ferry or water bus (route=ferry). The route mentioned above has an official schedule (https://horarioscitymais.com.br/linha-0039-10-terminal-ferry-boat-santa-cruz-dos-navegantes/) indicating this is a form of public transportation and not a private boating route. Additionally, there are regular ferry routes nearby (way/48452393) tagged as route=ferry. These routes share similar characteristics suggesting that they are both publicly accessible ferry routes. Do you have any objection to changing these back to route=ferry to better reflect the usage of these routes? Thanks for your input.

| 155669220 | over 1 year ago | Hello Cubano153,
I understand that users may weigh the importance of various roads in their community differently. However, the current classification along Circuito Norte seems to contradict the hierarchical criteria set by the OSM community. According to the wiki, trunk features are reserved for "high performance" or "high importance" roads that provide access to cities and the broader road network (highway=trunk). To maintain consistency with the greater network, what do you think about restoring these trunk features to primary? There is one other question I had regarding highway refs. In the city of Morón along the ref=CN there is gap where the highway enters the city between way/466006302 and way/727927646. If you are familiar with the area do you know how the highway ref traverses through the city of Morón? Thank you for your time, I look forward to hearing from you! traducción automática
| 68738411 | over 1 year ago | Hello AlexLabrada,
Near the city of Santiago de Cuba there is another gap in the ref=CC that I was trying to fix (way/587542045 and way/717798291). There is a motorway highway (way/830404919) that merges with the highway along this route that is currently tagged as ref=A1. According to the wiki (osm.wiki/Semi-colon_value_separator) there can be multiple ref values tagged along a way where highway routes overlap, for example way/240736720. Do you think that we could match the tagging format here or is there a reason that this national ref is withheld from the motorways? Finally, in the city of Morón along the ref=CN there is gap where the highway enters the city between way/466006302 and way/727927646. If you are familiar with the area do you know how the highway ref traverses through the city of Morón? Thank you for taking a look and have a nice day. traducción automática
| 156582879 | over 1 year ago | Hello InsertUser, comparing Bing Aerial Imagery to Esri World Imagery the road looks like it was recently paved. However, if you have knowledge of the area please feel free to update the surface type of this highway. Have a nice day! |
| 156410631 | over 1 year ago | Hello Web Rota-TI, While working in Brazil I have noticed highways like the one in this changeset (way/1314442741) that have been upgraded to or created as a tertiary road. The Brazil community guidelines for tertiary highways states “unpaved federal highways are marked as highway=tertiary” (osm.wiki/Brazil/Rodovias_Federais). Many of these tertiary highways are rural and unpaved yet they are not federal highways as they terminate as an access driveway to single houses mostly. Federal highways in Brazil are commonly denoted with a ref tag containing the letters “BR” followed by a dash and a numerical value of up to three numbers (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_federal_highways_in_Brazil). I recently mentioned in this changeset about similar tertiary classifications of driveways that should be either residential or service (changeset/155622202). Could you share your thoughts about if these highways could be lowered in classification to a more appropriate class type that matches their use? Thank you for your time and have a nice day. | 155488129 | over 1 year ago | Hello ferog_v,
I do have another question for you regarding additional secondary highways in Cancun if you are able to take a look. What do you think about reclassifying www.openstreetmap.org/way/167990302 and www.openstreetmap.org/way/167552879 to tertiary? The guidelines on the OSM Wiki (highway=tertiary) states that "tertiary highways commonly connect minor streets to more major roads and provide access to town centers.”, and they often times provide access into residential areas. If these are proposed to be secondary highways like the previous ones we discussed, would adding “proposed=secondary” tag in addition to “highway=tertiary”, accomplish the same goal? Additionally, there are some floating secondaries that dead end without providing further connectivity. (For example, www.openstreetmap.org/way/167552785 and www.openstreetmap.org/way/167990287). Would these be appropriate to reclassify as “highway=residential” with “proposed=secondary” to follow the same system too? They are currently minor highway segments that provide access to homes along the highway. Looking at Esri World Imagery, the road infrastructure and surface quality appear to be in development and currently function better as residential. There may be other examples that could be updated using this formatting and I would be happy to assist in making these changes if you agree with the approach. Happy Mapping and have a nice day. |
| 154117673 | over 1 year ago | Hello Mike Ortega,
It is my interpretation via this article https://www.el19digital.com/articulos/ver/titulo:146743-carretera-costanera-el-camino-que-conectara-el-progreso-y-desarrollo-en-nicaragua, that the highway “Carretera Litoral del Pacífico” is proposed to go through construction. For the features that are currently not open to vehicles, what do you think about changing the highway tagging to reflect ongoing construction (highway=construction)? For example change the tagging so that it is consistent with highways such as way/1292482544 that are currently tagged with construction tags (highway=construction and construction=primary). The segments way/1292484242 and way/180177388 on the border of Costa Rica and Nicaragua have also been changed to primary. Since construction is ongoing, this may be better as tertiary until construction is complete. What do you think about reclassifying this feature to tertiary and adding proposed=primary so that the classification of the highway is consistent through this region? Additionally, I noticed that way/1292190196 could also be reclassified to highway=unclassified with proposed=primary as well, as this road appears to be open to the public. That way the primary planned designation is preserved on the feature and when the route’s construction is set it could easily be changed to primary in OSM at that point in the future. Thank you and have a nice day. tradução automática Olá Mike Ortega,

The wiki osm.wiki/Highways#Classification states the residential classification is reserved for highways that provide access to residences and housing. For instances where these highways don't extend to any homes (for example way/1309490968 and way/1309489560), do you agree the classification would be better as unclassified? highway=* mentions that unclassified roads are reserved for highways of low importance that serve a purpose other than providing access to properties. Thank you for taking a look and have a nice day. tradução automática Olá Web Rota-TI,
