thanks for your work in cuyahoga county; regarding way/405740858 where you left a note, it is sign posted that bicycles are permitted on this although having travelled the adjacent route to the immediate east yesterday, it is extremely challenging (relatively steep)

Hi,

Thanks for your prolific edits and work with Peoplewithbikes in Cleveland. I noticed that you had changed several ways way/11804316/history/7 ; way/126400482; way/11801265 ; way/11787875 (is just a small subset of these) that had surface=brick to surface=paving_stones

Although surface=brick isn't documented in the wiki, it had been used as a defacto tag for tagging brick ways

My concern with replacing surface=brick with surface=paving_stones is that paving_stones is much more broader and can represent a variety of stones/bricks (e.g. ones listed at surface=paving_stones)

I'm writing to ask, in case if you are still editing in cleveland (i don't believe that you are); if you'll continue that pattern.
I'll follow up with other local editors for their thoughts.

Hi,

Thanks for your interest in adding buildings in Cleveland.

If you're interested, a couple of us local OSM editors are adding buildings using the building data set from Cuyahoga County; we cleared it with them and the county is a-ok with us adding the buildings to OSM.

The accuracy and detail to the buildings from the cuyahoga county data set is much higher than the the Microsoft/mapwithai buildings.

For example of an area mapped with county building data, see osm.org/?#map=17/41.463079/-81.708552

If you'd like directions and a workflow of how to add the buildings from the couny daa set, let me know :)

on further update, the building construction tag should only be used when the building actually exists and has 4 walls, near completion, so i have deleted it; the landuse=construction surrounding the site is still there and applicable.

thanks for the update; went to do it myself and saw you already had :D

hi, welcome to OpenStreetMap (OSM) and thanks for editing.

There is already an existing node for Slavic Village so I have deleted your node.
(node/153932723)

In OSM, we only map things once (osm.wiki/One_feature,_one_OSM_element); otherwise, it would be pretty confusing to have 2 slavic villages :D

if you have any questions about OSM, feel free to contact me.

regards,

ps: i'm familiar with your organization and you do great work!

hi, thanks for your mapping; I came across node/10728457667 and saw that you had a fixme note but i'm unsure what needs to be improved; as a local, I can verify that the crossing still exists (I drove by it a month or so ago, and took some photos and uploaded them on mapillary of it.

thanks for the updates; you beat me to it :)

HI, thanks for mapping and adding more detail to the park but what was your reasoning behind deleting the baseball field's way ? It's generally considered acceptable to map it as a entire shape.

thank you very much for the notice; that definitely seems like the more appropriate tag; I'll use this tag in the future and go back to fix these as well.
