Lee Carré and I had a discussion about this in another, similar changeset: changeset/113122685 It happened because I was using the app immediately before and after travelling between countries and like you said, as a user, I was unaware of how the app handles change sets. I'll start a discussion on the app's GitHub page to see if we can make this clearer for new app users.

OK I've turned off auto-upload, this looks like a much more sensible way to use the app, thanks for the tip and also for the explanations. Does a session last 2 hours or what? I must say I've been looking for a "force upload" button and I would never have thought of turning off auto-upload to get it, although it makes sense after the fact. Maybe I'll open a GitHub issue for this or if you do then I'll join it, I'd like to contribute a code change if this can be improved, either with a UI change to make this button easier to find, or clarifying the consequences of the different upload options or adjusting the logic for when to upload what changes a bit.

I did survey them all in the same day, sorry for the trouble. I was using the StreetComplete app to add highway tags during a taxi ride to the airport in the UK, flew to Hungary, then did the same there. I assumed the app was committing the changes one-by-one but I can see that's obviously wrong. Is it possible to split up change sets after the fact?
