I checked some other sources outside OSM. Even "Survey of India" (www.surveyofindia.gov.in) uses this type of letters with macron at its "englisch" maps.

Feel free to change, if you know the correct spelling. The documents I use are using this "macrons" at the "real" name (i.e. exported data from geonames.nga.mil - old variant and patially old india survey maps). I do not know, what is the correct spelling only in latin letters, maybe "a" with macron is "aa" or "e" something else in pure latin chars. So what I do, is using this name from source as the "name" tag, but always adding seplleing with only latin at the name:en tag (english).

there were 2 objects/ways ID:205729455 and ID:100497100 for Farakka Barrage. I didn't change it because I wasn't sure why, too.
dam ID 100497100 was created by PlaneMad changeset #7334148 13 years ago, dam with ID 205729455 was created by Japa 11 years ag (changeset #15048310)

soweit ich das sehe (Maxar, Bing imagery) sind die beiden Freileitungen korrekt getaggt. Daneben sind 2 Objekte, die ich nicht genau deuten kann. Eines davon wurde mit man_made=tower von robram2004 (Änderungssatz 71151336) schon vor mir getaggt (stammt also nicht von mir).
Dem Schatten nach sehen die beiden wie Antennenmasten oder sowas aus ...
Aus meiner Sicht kann das aber gerne umgetagggt werden. Eine minor-line ist ja direkt daneben ..

ich war grade im Urlaub da und OsmAnd+ hat weder die Bahnübergänge angesagt /angezeigt noch wurden die Gleise angezeigt. ich würde vorschlagen statt railway:preserved lieber railway:rail und railway:preserved=yes verwenden wollen. (siehe dazu osm.wiki/DE:Tag:railway=preserved; osm.wiki/DE:Key:railway:preserved und osm.wiki/DE:Railways die Tabelle.
