Thanks maxerickson, Clearly the tagging of water needs to be discussed and agreed upon by the community. We'd like to use OSM data in an operational context and we're having issues with the current inconsistencies with how the Great Lakes (and other waterbodies) are tagged. I'll see if it's worth trying to reach some kind of consensus (I suspect that will require lots of efforts, which I can't devote at this point, maybe later). Thanks -- Alex
