I’ve reverted these changes again - please read the docs and do not use name:en for archaic/historical names.
|
If the name is no longer in common usage then it shouldn’t really be on OSM - OpenHistoricalMap would be a better fit for this. The name:en tag is essentially the “main name” for anyone browsing the map in English, as data consumers will prioritise language-specific tags over generic “name” tags.

Hi there, I’ve reverted these changes as “Bewley” is not the correct name in English, nor is it a local name. For adding phonetic pronunciation, please see the name:pronunciation tag - name:pronunciation=* Thanks

Hi there, just wondering what the source(s) are for the edits in your recent changesets, as they're quite spread out across the UK and no sources have been provided. Thanks

Hi, I agree that properties are usually separated by boundary fences. However using fences to represent property boundaries (when there is no fence) is tagging for the renderer and not an accurate representation of what's on the ground. osm.wiki/Tagging_for_the_renderer For example there are no fences or hedges separating the front gardens along Little Dene Copse. This changeset also added a large wood (not mentioned in changeset comment) which does not align with the edges of the wood in several places.

Hi there, just wondered what the source is for this data? I surveyed this recently and there is no stream here (just a drainage ditch) and some of the lines tagged as fences should be hedges.
|
Hi there, just to clarify, in what case should a road be explicitly tagged with oneway=no?

Hello, please try to write detailed changeset comments. This makes it much easier to see at a glace what has changed. osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments Thanks
