Hello arafqus-dh,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap in Algeria. Also, thank you for sharing the source for the road.

I changed the road classifications to make the network continuous and logical. The old way breaks standard OSM routing rules.

According to OSM guidelines, a single continuous road should not have mixed and changing classes along the way (for example: jumping from trunk to motorway, back to trunk, and then to primary). Road networks must connect smoothly so they do not confuse navigation and routing engines.

You can check the standard classification rules on the official wiki page here: highway=*

Hello yassin_metro,
Looking at the previous history of this area, the mapper before me
https://osmcha.org/changesets/183877232
had uploaded the street with only the construction tag, which goes against OSM tagging guidelines.
According to the official documentation, it must be tagged as:
highway=construction
construction=* (e.g., construction=residential, construction=tertiary, etc.)

You can check the correct tagging standards here: OSM Wiki - Tag:highway=construction. I only stepped in to fix these validation errors, as we shouldn't leave incomplete tags on the map.
Additionally, the elements you recently drew are also incorrect because they create overlaps and contain incomplete tags:

way/1529976945
way/1529976942

Could you please fix the tags on these segments and remove the overlapping ways? Thank you!

Hello yassin_metro,
We noticed you are mapping bus routes and stations in Egypt based on the Transport for Cairo (TfC) dataset. While we highly appreciate adding this valuable data, the technical execution of your edits is currently damaging the existing road network and causing severe validation errors.

Working on an institutional project is a great contribution, but it requires adherence to OSM guidelines and local community standards to ensure data quality.

We kindly ask you to adjust your mapping workflow and follow these standard practices:

Mapping Bus Routes via Relations (No Road Duplication):
In OSM, we only draw new ways (roads) if they do not physically exist on the server. To map a bus route, you should never create new overlapping roads on top of existing ones. Instead, bus routes must be mapped by creating or adding the ways to a Relation. Please review the guidelines here: OSM Wiki - Public transport.
osm.wiki/Public_transport

Floating Links:
Please avoid leaving the ends of newly drawn segments disconnected from intersecting roads, as floating links break routing engines.

Maintain Correct Tagging & Topology:
Altering road classifications without adjusting connected links affects the network integrity. Please refer to Egypt's road guidelines: OSM Wiki - Egypt/Roads.
highway=*

Please make sure to use the Validator tool (in JOSM or iD editor) and clean up red errors and warnings before uploading your changesets.

The local community in Egypt is spending a significant amount of time cleaning up these validation errors. Continuing to upload modifications without proper validation and ignoring standard mapping rules creates major consistency issues and disruptions within the OSM community dataset. We highly appreciate your cooperation in fixing these errors and adopting the standard mapping workflow moving forward.

Examples for illustration/review:

way/1529865607 | way/1529865606

way/879256264 | way/879256262
Could you check your changesets and make the necessary adjustments?

Hello shhamza104, and welcome to OpenStreetMap!
I noticed your recent edits regarding buildings and roads, but I would like to point out some technical issues that need to be corrected to follow OSM standards:

(Building Shapes & Imagery): The buildings you've drawn do not match the satellite imagery in terms of shape or scale. Please ensure that all features are traced accurately based on available imagery.

( Incorrect use of the Name tag): The name=* tag should only contain the actual name of the building or street. Large numbers or codes should not be placed here.
Reference: name=*

(Geocode Issues): The geocodes you are adding to nodes are incorrect and misplaced. OSM generates its own location data; manually adding random codes to tags is not standard practice.
Reference: ref=* (If these are reference numbers).

( Road Overlapping): Some roads are overlapping with buildings or other roads. In OSM, the network should be clean and connected properly without unnecessary overlaps.
Reference: osm.wiki/Data_Working_Group/OSM_object_filter_guide/Overlapping_Objects

(Changeset Comments): When saving your edits, please provide a clear and descriptive comment about what you have done. Using unclear characters like "ش ح" makes it difficult for other mappers to understand your changes. A good comment should explain what was added or modified.
Reference: osm.wiki/Good_changeset_comments

Please go back and review these edits, and kindly correct them to match the imagery and follow the proper tagging standards. You can use the LearnOSM.org guide for help.
We appreciate your enthusiasm and want to help you contribute high-quality data to the map.

Hello Aarav 588,
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap in the United Arab Emirates. I noticed that you changed the **ref tags** for several streets, for example:
way/47855631
way/184776531
way/634981959
way/612748408
I checked the Mapillary tracks to look for any road signs that might support these edits, and I didn't find any sign containing your value-added, for example:
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=667664262954231
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=685982751019796
Could you please let me know the official source you used for these ref changes?
Just a quick note: when editing ref tags, it’s necessary to have an official or reliable source for the change and to include that source in the changeset. It’s also recommended to keep changesets small and add a short description of the edits, according to OSM guidelines. For more information, please check this link:

Hello ABDULLAH AL WERFALLI,
Thank you for your contribution to improving the road network on OpenStreetMap.
I noticed in this changeset:
changeset/170590862
That you changed some roads to “operational”. I tried to double-check if these roads were officially opened, but I couldn’t find any confirmation in the news. The only source I came across is this one:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNAsJhxS9TF/
which says the project is still in its final construction stage.
Maybe you have another source that confirms the opening? If so, it would be great if you could share it with us.
Also, I saw that you updated a few links:
way/1413587390
way/172855266
way/1413587388
way/1413587386
from trunk_link to primary_link. Just to mention, according to OSM guidelines, the link classification should usually match the higher road type it connects to. Here’s the reference for more details:
osm.wiki/Link_roads_between_different_highways_types
Best regards.

Hello Agadir_edits;
Thank you for contributing to OpenStreetMap in Morocco,
I noticed you Deleted the streets.
Link for deleted streets:
https://osmlab.github.io/osm-deep-history/#/way/1291288634
https://osmlab.github.io/osm-deep-history/#/way/91052910
I saw the latest satellite image the date is ( 2025-01-01) these streets
are still there and working, And you made some roads "Floating".
Link for Floating streets :

Hello, mkarau ;
Thank you for your comment, and happy mapping!

157407525

Hello, mkarau ;
I thank you for adding these barriers that exist in reality to improve the OSM map and apologize if the changes I made upset you but it’s better to place just one barrier on the road, which will serve the route, rather than placing them far from the road, as they would be considered floating and wouldn’t affect the route in any way
For example,
node/12218156441
node/12218156429
And here is the wiki page that explains how to place barriers on the road.
barrier=*
Before we deleted the remaining floating barriers in this changeset
https://osmcha.org/changesets/157407525
we made sure to check the Mapillary tracks to confirm whether these barriers exist or not.
For example,
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=24.523371815731977&lng=54.43358188460479&z=19.9&focus=photo&dateFrom=2017-01-01&pKey=2909420236004972&x=0.49282946688680535&y=0.4797415233108498&zoom=0
Also, some of the barriers you added are not barriers, but rather traffic signal poles
For example,
node/7710055157
node/7710055156
And this was also verified using the Mapillary track.
https://www.mapillary.com/app/?lat=24.523303900068996&lng=54.43357200000003&z=19.9&focus=photo&dateFrom=2017-01-01&pKey=334833254678863&x=0.49553902361084423&y=0.6384033843866203&zoom=0
Could you please fix these issues? based on the open street map policy.
Regards
salma_z
